How can we turn off test drive ?
Like the game, but not interested in driving a tank around.. any way to disable that element or have it as an option ?

Just don't do it. I don't test drive every new design of tank I make. You don't have to do it, as long as you put your tanks through the proving ground building and correct the defects after x days of them being tested, you don't actually need to drive them

You can ignore this completely. The only thing is, it supposedly boosts some combat stats slightly.

I just did a playthrough on the highest difficulty without doing the test drive even once. No problems whatsoever.

Hi Andy1966uk2

Currently, the test drive is mainly a cosmetic feature that lets you see and drive your tanks, but it’s not required for the tycoon part of the game. You can skip it if you wish.

I do like the fact that we can look at our designs and test them out and that we can also choose to skip it. Overall I do think having it is a very good inclusion in the game even though it is mostly cosmetic at the moment but it's still cool to have a working 3d model that you can drive and shoot if you choose to and I look forward to when this feature gets improved in the future where we can hopefully do more including fail a test if we can't make it around the course (due to getting stuck in a ditch) and I would like to see a minimum score required on the shooting tests (an actual test of gun accuracy scoring) would be good to be included in the future.

I do hope that it retains being fully optional

Hi Flashback

Currently we don't have plans to make it obligatory but we do want to flesh it out for those who enjoy driving/testing own tanks first-hand.

Imagine you have a game with barely any content but a completely optional part that's not necessary for the game loop.
Next level prioritization

Real, its an odd choice, but apparently quite a few people like it?

I think it's cool as a posiibility but the bonus stats make it a must for many "OCD" players which make a significant amount of tycoon type games. I urge you to reconsider adding an option that would enable us to "do" the test run with a click of a button so we don't feel like we're loosing something if we dont to the test manually. I hope you can see the issue here :)

But then how will you know for yourself if your design performs as intended? I agree that it shouldn't be compulsory to do the test run but I think it's fine as it is and you can get a slight bonus if you complete the test and maybe in the future some negative points if you fail/aren't able to complete the test

Absolutely it's great to have a playable 3D element to the game I look forward to more content in this area
