Kicked out 😢
I was really enjoying this game. The wholesome sense of community, cooperation and teamwork, and overall heartwarming vibe had me coming back every day.
Today I was disappointed- a lot. Apparently if there are three “teammates” who think you’re not fit for their team, you can be kicked right out of the game. Even if you have helped your “team” get to the final level by patiently waiting for everyone to catch up, literally sacrifice yourself so they can step on your tombstone, they can decide to just kick you if you get a little stuck.
Honestly, I feel a bit betrayed. I’m not sure if I will play this again. And sadly, I was about to tell all my friends about it. But I wouldn’t want them to get the wrong idea either.
This is not as “nice” of a game as it pretends to be.

Hey man I'm very sorry to hear this happened to you. I honestly can't recall seeing a vote kick successfully happen in one of my many games so far but that sucks if you got kicked and you weren't trolling or something. It really is a wonderful game and I hope you give it another chance.

So sorry that happened! The vote kick feature is necessary to prevent players from griefing but obviously everyone should have their own time experiencing and exploring the game without being kicked out immidiately. I'm happy to hear that you enjoy KarmaZoo in general and would hope you give it another try soon if you like :)

Same here, for no reason I get kicked near the end of the loop.
Now I feel the same as you, betrayed and starting to think diferent about the "comunity".

make sure to be in games with 7+ players. i never had that issue. but i started a kickvote a few times when the players just kept standing at the start not doing anything. never did anyone get kicked though.

i think you were unlucky. i play this since the closed beta and it definitely is the most friendly and helpful game out atm.

i played it for almost 19 hrs in our charity event. i hosted, and we had a blast. join the discord, there is a channel called "looking for room" or some like that. join those, and you should be fine. if anything happens then, it is easier to figure out who it was, and the devs could maybe say something.

we also gave anyone the chance to finish their missions/challenges, which can be nearly impossible in public games, because we communicated on our charity channel and the discord.

Yeah sometimes some people are rude , when u dont understand quickly how to resolve a thing they kick youi wometime , but dont pay attention to some idiots and enjoy the game.

I was kicked too because i didnt notice that i have to put a crystal on acid and it took only 10 second on me to get kick , some dudes have to relax

wow! i mean, there are emotes to show the direction for a reason... i think those ppl should go back to CoD, this is not a game for them. if i see someone struggle, i stay behind. some don't get jumps, so i show them.

i know you can mute others, but blocking might be good too, so you won't join loops with those players. it is tricky though.

There's a lot of irony in the fact that a bunch of random players will come down on someone for being too slow, but we can't play with our friends for unfounded concerns of griefing.

I don't think it's unfounded. It would certainly happen and be a con. That being said, it's one of those things where I think the pros outweigh the cons and I wish was a thing the game had for those who would benefit from it.

I've played for 20+ hours and never seen any griefers or trolls. The only time I've seen someone kicked was when they took about 15 seconds to figure out what they needed to do, and did it successfully, but got kicked anyway after they did it. All 3 kick votes came at once, so I think it was a group of impatient kids in a discord group or something, treating the game like it's Esports.

Most of the time you get kicked because you ain't doing what your unique character can do and no one else in the team can or you have a key item but you don't use it properly, i myself have to vote for kick a couple of times because some players just don't pay attention at all even when everyone else is using the emotes to try to tell to move or stop they just won't get it and that's where the kick function comes handy, this is a team based game and sure you may enjoy taking it easy and slow but that can screw up the rest of the team and it ain't fair either for the rest of the players to lose the loop because of one player

Yeah, this just happened to me and it pissed me off. I was obviously trying to help the team out and I guess I wasn’t doing the right thing and got kicked after getting to the final level. Really soured my experience.

I saw that, you were the Elephant and i was the Wolf and your case was exactly to point i was making, i was sending the red hand emote many times trying to tell you to stop and the finger pointing upwards to tell you to go up there because you were holding the crystal and it needed to be coated with the acid so we could progress and everyone waited for a whole minute for you but you just kept singing to that wheel which had no further use and the time was running out, you were kicked because of that

This is the reason why the kick function exist, sure you don't like it i uderstand but the rest of the team wouldn't like to lose the loop because you are holding a key item and you can't figure out what to do with it and losing a loop because of 1 player would be sour for the whole team, next time pay attention if your character is holding a key item and if you don't know what to do with it just kill your character to release the item so another player can grab it

First you say it's a team based game and then you talk about kicking others just because they're too slow for you. That's selfish. In co-op games, it's not just your own skills that count. You can also lose if someone else makes a mistake, that's part of a co-op game. Give others the chance to make mistakes and learn from them. What's so bad about losing a loop? I really don't understand why everyone is so sweaty about winning these days instead of just having fun and not taking every defeat personally.

If you absolutely can't stand being matched with inexperienced players, you have the option to find pro gamers that suit you and create a private lobby.

Not slow for ME, for EVERYONE in the team, and people don't vote for kick just because someone is slow, they kick because someone is a detriment to the team and making mistakes is no reason to kick, for example you are carrying a key item but you die and drop it, you won't be kicked because of that, everyone just asume the mistake and keeps going on to get back that item

Now if you are holding the key item and you are not doing with it what you are supposed to do that's when the voting begins and not before players send you tons of emotes trying to tell you what to do, that is not a mistake that is you not paying attention to what you are doing or holding, and that requires the kick, because the whole team gets stuck by 1 single player that ain't paying attention and being a co-op game is no excuse to justify this behavior

What so bad about losing a loop? let's see, you lose the chance to get the karma of everyone else and just get whatever few hundred points you have...good luck farming hearts to unlock the 100,000 hearts stuff, you also lose all the progress in your character missions too, say you are a Frog and you managed to complete the very hard mission of the 5 keys but then you lose because of 1 player and all your effort goes puff, you dare to ask what's wrong with that if it is just a game and yet you don't say the same when getting kicked even when it's still just a game uh? making others waste their time and effort is also being selfish

If you don't care about winning or losing then you should not care either about being kicked but you do care about it and that is proof that winning and losing matters, you are just salty that people choose to win rather than losing because of 1 player, but the kick feature exist for very good reasons

I won't comment on the replies here, but I've seen people getting at least one kick vote for no reason (like at the start of the game, just for existing - I even got a vote for waiting for someone for 10 seconds and I wasn't even the needed character of the specific level), so there is that. I also don't understand people who kick the only character who can clear the level. I get it. The specific player isn't doing well since they don't understand what they have to do, but kicking them is just an instant loss. And I don't mean spending 60 seconds trying to say it, but I've seen wheel runners and spiders getting kick votes after 5 seconds of missing something. Some people need to chill.
