What's your character tier list?
I finished the game once on Normal mode because that's all I could stomach, but I did legit like the characters. I would give my tier list like this (they ARE ordered within the tiers):
SSS - Hopalong
S - Billy, Sarge
A - Preach, Fletch, Judge, Casino, Rawhide, Spike, Smoky
B - Kaboom, Roswell, Rosa

Personal Favorite - Rawhide

No one is bad, but some have tons of utility (which I placed higher in tier) while others are mainly just DPS (which I placed lower). It's also highly dependent on which Aces you took for some characters.

Hopalong is eventually able to move 24 spaces. That, along with being able to stunlock-kill all enemies at close range, and the ability to move silently at a crouch, means he singlehandedly speeds up the game A LOT. As long as he's on the field, you're speedrunning. You're a speedrunner now.

Billy is a solid combination of tank (can only be hit once every few seconds), high DPS, and good utility (delays Prince spawn). Like Hopalong, there's really never a reason not to bring Billy. He can also get massive damage bonuses against two of the more annoying enemies in the game: Princes and Assassins, making him a solo powerhouse.

Sarge gets a card that lets him see enemies through walls. I don't need to say any more than that. He can also see invisible enemies for free.

Preach is clearly overpowered from the moment she's unlocked, and so is Fletch, both of which get even MORE overpowered as you pick up their Aces. Preach gets so much healing that it's practically impossible for her OR HER PARTNER to die under any circumstances. Meanwhile, Fletch can just faceroll any non-claustrophobic fight because she doesn't need to aim, and she has a too-high chance of subverting any enemy she hits.

Judge is the undisputed king until he's forcibly removed from your party, and by the time he comes back, he probably hasn't scaled very well. Still, Judge can basically solo most of the game on his own. He only falters when there's large packs of Kyotes and Yellowbellies... AND no juice.

Casino is the last of the characters that has serious utility. He's otherwise a weak version of Hopalong, but if you pick his Cramm-centered Aces, he becomes your most reliable way of generating Cramm (until he gets locked out for the second half of the game). And he can generate a LOT of it. Like 600 Cramm per fight as long as you're fighting human enemies. This opens up the shops, supplying you with practically infinite Beans, Nitro, and Beacons.

Rawhide is awesome. You can be Rawhide also. Therefore you can be awesome. The enemy is not Rawhide. But they will be soon. Still, he gets a tad weak when he's not fighting critters, especially against Crankers and Ironclads. Otherwise, he quickly floods the stage with ridiculous amounts of Kyotes, allowing both him and his partner to just mosey around and sweep up.

Spike gets free crits against virtually everybody, and can chain kills against one of the most annoying enemies in the game (Rattlers) with very high safety. Subverting security is also pretty nice late-game, but... security in this game also just isn't very dangerous.

Smoky is the second-best character early-game, with his ability to hit enemies through walls, a stunt that kills 3 enemies for free (and allows you to see them through walls due to the damage indicator if they don't die), and freebie Allies. I just didn't see him scaling very well compared to these other guys where all they have to do is sneeze and the fight's already over.

Kaboom and Roswell both have extremely high damage and are practically invincible... but who cares? They also aren't particularly helpful to their partners, or on Pal supports, compared to the characters above them.

Rosa is at the bottom. She doesn't do as good of a job at DPS as Billy, her utility is sorely lacking, her Stunt is probably the worst in the game, and then she gets locked out for half the campaign. She does start to build some traits centered around fear, making enemies quit early and essentially lowering the amount of enemies you have to fight in each showdown. But again... who cares?

By the end of the game, I honestly kind of liked everybody. Rawhide with his little rat basketball-dunking the clip on every reload is just too much, though. He should have been the main character.
