Save states?

Can this game have a save state system where you can save the current state and then continue later?

I think this game can be completed in 1-1.5 hours tops.
My problem is to get that 1 hour I can commit to playing. It is hard to play full hour while you need to concentrate on game.

I want to compete it but after level 25-30 I feel I need to take a break

It might be less exhaustive if you can save and continue later.
Providing lifes are saved.
