Large Boat Bouncing Bug Making the Beginning of the Game Unplayable

I'm getting this bug where the boat bounces uncontrollably both in the first section as well as in the later chapter where you explore the island by boat. I have already beaten the game with this occurring, but when going to replay, the bug seems to have worsened. I have tried everything from modifying settings, restarting the game, and even fully reinstalling, but nothing seems to fix it. As well I cannot find any other reports for this bug. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

Were you eventually able to fix this bug? I recently purchased the game (though not on Steam) and I'm having the exact same problem right now. Like you, i found no other reports for it!

I got it fixed. I don’t remember if I did anything else, but the last thing I remember doing was uninstalling the game and letting it sit for a few months. I had to reinstall for a completely different issue of QTE not registering any inputs (it was in chapter 2 where if you didn’t complete it you died so it was literally impassable). I may have done something different on reinstall, like installing it in a different location. You may not need to wait as long or at all, but I’m pretty sure that was all I did. I got anxiety every time the boat slightly bounced at all going through those boat sections after I fixed it though. I’m guessing it was a corrupt file on install.

for me its chapter 12 at the start and it caused a huge fps drops im re installing rn
