Should I use the controller to play this game for the real experience?

Playing with a keyboard and mouse Sucks and is SO Outdated. Always use a Controller playing a game with keyboard and mouse is so 1990's.

Your aim is way more precis with the mouse and it all feels more smooth.
I played the game on 4 Playstation with a controller
and then with MK on PC and i would never ever use a controller for this game again after that.
Mouse and keyboard is the way to go .

Works fine with a game controller. In case you, like me, don't enjoy aiming with an analog stick, there's a rather aggressive aiming assist functionality. Aside from that, climbing & puzzling are, obviously, designed with a game controller in mind and work great that way.

Not a super outlandish statement. This game was made for playstation first and thus designed around using a controller. For FPS games keyboard obviously wins but for other games controller will have my preference.

I dont know what is the "real" experience, but keyboard/mouse works just fine.

Probably an unpopular opinion but I like to use controller for the climbing sections and general movement/driving but switch to MK for shooting parts

I started playing with KM and after 20 minutes changed to PAD. There is NOT a lot of shooting, and when there is, this consoles AimBot is doing the job done! 😈
This is NOT Tomb Raider! This is on a rail interactive movie! Half of gameplay are cut scenes, 1/3 of 1/2 is climbing, 1/3 shooting, 1/3 driving.

worst aspect of gamepads is aim assist because they lack the precision of mouse aiming so need something to help with the aiming when using things like guns in games, hence aim assist. it removes some skill as it snaps to targets and follows targets, very noticeable in some games.

second thing is stick position. ps controllers are the worst as the sticks are in a central position and those with big hands, long / big thumbs often find their thumbs touching and i find that annoying. the palm grips are nice though, unlike the xbox controllers with larger chunky palm grips.
i'd love a controller with the smaller palm grips of the ps controller but the stick locations of an xbox controller. sadly controllers that exist that match this are either overpriced or just crap in terms of build quality or both.

I could not agree more. I found out the hard way 10 years ago with an RSI problem.

Everything is better with a controller and anyone that tries to talk about poor aiming precision has never really put the hours in using gyro aiming and with track pads on hybrid controllers like the steam controller or ds5.

I could not agree more. I found out the hard way 10 years ago with an RSI problem.

Everything is better with a controller and anyone that tries to talk about poor aiming precision has never really put the hours in using gyro aiming and with track pads on hybrid controllers like the steam controller or ds5.

You have to understand not everyone faces issues with disability. The game can be played with controller or M&K, both work fine. This is why people choose PC over consoles, to have options.

Give it time youngling. RSI is caused by prolonged use of a mouse and keyboard.

Go and see how many products are available to relieve the pain caused by just using a mouse and keyboard on Amazon.

I was playing keyboard games on my Spectrum in 1983, the first mouse and keyboard game I played was Robocop3 on the Amiga500 in 1991 and have been using gyro aim and hybrid controllers since the steam controller launched 2010.

I think I am qualified to talk about this subject.

For the average gamer modern controllers are better in every single way. I know this as a matter of fact.

The best thing about my PC is my dualsense5.
