THIS. Yeah...It's rare, but some games get goofy with OC systems. (I should probably remember this too...)
videocard is default...
13900KS, Apex Z790, 2x16 6400C32 XMP, 990Pro 2TB, RTX 4090 Liquid X, Soundblaster AE-7, Razer Huntsman, Razer Viper8K
W10 22H2 with the last updates
found other guys on Reddit with the same system as mine and they blame also the game
when I did the first chapters last fall I had NO crashes whatsoever, but chapter 9 is already unplayable
could be the driver, or the updates since?
I'll tried another driver,s then set unlimited cache from the NVPanel
I'm usually keeping HAGS disabled, Game Mode disabled as well
verified the game files, everything ok
I'll also set u4.exe and u4-l.exe as admin
after about 1hr playing, game crashed to desktop, but now a sony error message popped up to send the error back to them...
Did you let the game finish building the shaders while in the main menu before starting to play ?
When I had crashes, many of my searches lead me to understand that some people experienced problems after an Nvidia driver update. Some of them reported having solved the problem by rolling back to an older driver. That, unfortunately is a lot of work, trials and errors just to play a game to my opinion.
And it's too bad because it's an awesome game indeed.
chapter 1-5 no crash at all, started with 6 the first one before going into the castle at the auction, then randomly until 9 where crashes were really often, it crashed pretty much everywhere a milestone has been reached...
the game is fun though, so hopefully I'll assume the crashes then, saw lots of ppl having those
but kinda bad, crashing is ruining the atmosphere :(
I also have a high end setup (13900K + 4090 + 990 Pro SSD + 64GB RAM). GPU is heavily overclocked and I didn't have any crashes when I played it.
Idk if the latest driver has issues but these are some steps you might want to try.
