Stuck at level 2, the window won't open

I can't continue the level, when I escape from the prison I get to the point of having to knock out a window but the guards come and shoot.
I tried them all, even pressing very fast Y or changing the difficulty of the level. I also tried to set the continuous pressure of the button or to repeat the level from the beginning but nothing happened... Who can help me?

It's been 2 months and they still haven't fixed this problem. I just tried to play but the window still doesn't open, I tried to install the game on another same computer I have at home and it stops at the same point. It burns me that I spent money and I can't go on.

I was really looking forward to playing this. We play on Xbox so this was my only option to play it and now i can't even do that. I emailed Naughty Dog about it too and haven't heard anything.

I'm playing on PC and got through the first prison break fairly easily despite mouse+keyboard reducing Nathan to a slow walk. I've found in later levels that sometimes he needs to stand away or to the right or left of a door or window or vent cover to allow it to work.

If you're trying to open the window in the guard's office at the start of the escape, don't. Run through the main door and continue through the halls and alleys.

It's the part after you leave Vargas's office and run down the hall. Rafe tells you to help him with the window. I'm using an Xbox controller so it tells me to hit Y to select the bars and then tap Y to push them out and it doesn't work. They back off the bars and get mowed down by the guards.

So, I ended up restarting since it wasn't that far into the game and I was able to get by this time. 👍🏻

That window got me killed so many times. I wish I can continue the journey but I cannot.

I'm having the same problem, the window not opening. Also I tried playing Lost Legacy, and again in Chapter 4 when Chloe and Nadine try to lift a door open together, it prompts me to press E but it just doesn't open. In both cases when my character has to open something with another character, it just doesn't and stops me from progressing.

As I recall there's a walk/run toggle bound to either left control or C.

I've tried them all. I followed some advice but even if I get a slow walk, approaching from the right or left of the window, staying further away from that, using the keyboard or the joystick...nothing happens.
The window does not open.
I can't do anything else because the guards arrive and shoot me. I'm thinking to uninstall and reinstall the game but I'm afraid...I think this won't help as some of you have done this and the problem remained. I am disappointed with this game, I think it is a very serious problem.

No need to reinstall the game, I have encountered the issue too and died about 10 times or more.

For me helped:

Instead of triggering the Y (or E button) as fast as possible, push Y (or E) slowly and rhythmically about 4 times. Then the window opens and you can continue the prologue.

I got the same problem. Try change the all the advance graphic setting to "low," with "window" resolution "1280x720", change resolution scaling to "performance" and also change the interact button to be "left mouse click". This one works for me.
