There is no problem with this, I returned the money three times last year. I only waited 2 days. But I will wait for the patch

There will not be a patch, this game on PC apparently has bits of code that require AVX2 functionality within the CPU. It would mean a rewrite of huge pieces of game code.

AVX2 makes it possible for a CPU to do floating point computations way way faster. You can't just simply rewrite a bit of code to make it work without AVX2. It would take months to rewrite the gamecode.

Simply not going to happen. Upgrade your hardware, this might be the first game that requires AVX2, it will not be the last.

Nah.

The same thing was with:


- Cyberpunk 2077 and SSE 4.2
- Dying light 2 and SSE 4.x
- Resindent evil 7 and SSSE3 SIMD
- Control and SSE 4.2
- Steep (don't remember what instructions set it demanded after japanese themed dlc)


All of them were recompiled by devs (or even patched by users) to run without these instruction sets and work fine up to this day.


All it takes is to run a compiler and untick "AVX2" in options before compiling.


Btw much newer sony's games (God of war, Days gone) run perfectly fine without avx2 as well.

mentioning a AVX2 compatibility cpu would have done more, now you are excluding a large group of players who don't have the money to buy something new each 6 years.
YEs folks there are people who do not live with mom and dad or do not have access to mom or dads credit card, or do not earn a ♥♥♥♥ load of money each month, so they can buy anything their hart desires.
the majority of gamers, are potato gamers as those fortunate call them, but also those are the ones who could bring in more if they would have taken in account the old cpu's out there and dropped the price to a reasonable one instead of the hardcopy price but receive a digital copy instead, so no dvd,booklet, or items with it.
Shame on you gaming industry, you have lost the trust of the majority, and they wont be upgrading any time soon concerning the present prices of hardware.
The majority rather have food on the table a roof over their heads and cloth to wear, and believe me when i say that this group is becoming larger and larger by each passing of the day.
You should drop the prices by the economic standards for now you are out of your league and will only end in your own downfall, as many will stop buying your jackpot prices games out of economic necessity.
You lost me on this one due to your hardcopy price and the avx2 demand, and i'm sure as hell ain't going to waste 600 to 1200 euro's to upgrade to a better pc, instead i rather have food, warmth, pay my bills and with any luck have 100 euro left for personal need, i'll be saving that for later more important needs, that might arise in the near future.

Btw i bought god of war and days gone on day one just because i wanted to support you guys tp ort more games to pc, and now you come with this avx2 crap, not cool naughty dog not cool.
