How to solve FPS drops and stuttering?
Hello.

I know that other posts regarding that kind of issues have been published here, but I couldn't find a solution to my own particular problem.

I've checked before buying the game and my PC is good enough to run it in medium-high in 1080p. But I've experienced a bit of FPS drops and stuttering in game sometimes and although it doesn't prevent me to play, it's still quite frustrating. I have an issue with the cutscenes too, when the screen stays frozen for a bit but the sound part goes on (almost) normally. Replaying the cutscene usually works but it's annoying to do it almost every time. :(

To fix the problem, I've tried several things but none of them have worked for me so far :
- updating my graphics driver did nothing special
- lowering the graphics doesn't seem to affect it
- lowering the resolution to 720p doesn't really help either

I don't care if the graphics aren't perfect and everything but I just want to enjoy the game without being annoyed by that. So any hints on how to solve the problem are welcome. :)

Thank you and have a nice day!

List your PC specs.

Sure, here they are:

Intel Core i5-9300H
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1650 Max-Q
16 GB RAM (I've recently added 8 to my original 8 GB)
Windows 10

I'm not particular at all about how many FPS I get as long as I can play without lag. So it should be enough I think.

I would suggest setting up an OSD with afterburner/RTSS or similar program, then watch your CPU and GPU usage during FPS drops and stutters this will give you an idea of the issue.

Another possibility is if you're running off a HDD instead of an SSD.

I'm sorry for you, buddy. The "AVX2" instruction was never declared by the developers as "mandatory" anywhere

What?

Yeah I had to install the game on my HDD (SSD is only 128GB sized and occupied by my OS). I know someone with the same specs as me who got it installed on his SSD and it works just fine, so that makes sense.

Thank you for taking the time to help, I'll see what I can do. :)

Same-ish problem = stutter, short but severe framedrops. No other (>1000) game causes problems but this does.

Intel i9700K, RTX 2080 Super, 16 GB, Windows 10, all updated
