DLSS Issue (driver issue?)
DLSS actually gives me worse performance in this title.
Render res set to 1440p (Quality mode) and output res 4k gives around 45fps in the first open scene after prison. Lowering the render res (switching to performance mode etc.) doesn´t change fps.
However deactivating DLSS and setting the same render res via render scale (1440p) gives me solid 60fps while using the same graphic settings.
I suspect nvidia driver problems since there are some issues already reported with 522.25.

System
I5 12600k
16gb ddr5
RTX 3070 8gb
installed on ssd

New drivers have some issues like that. Perhaps it's that

I’m having the same issue with DLSS. With it turned off I get better performance. Seems like a driver issue.

On a 4K display, with DLSS set to performance (1080p), I’m getting 30fps-40fps. With DLSS off and image scaling set to 50 (1080p) I get a locked 60fps.

I have a feeling the game is using the render scale option at 200 for DLSS and FSR instead of 100.

* EDIT: it seems to have fixed itself after restarting my PC.

It may have something to do with the Efficient cores. 12th generation Intel CPU's have a mixture of Performance cores and Efficient cores. The i5 has 6 and 4. It's not supposed to use the Efficient cores for games, but that may be happening since game devs are still adjusting to the new CPU's . That's all I can think of.

I’m experiencing the same performance issues with DLSS and FSR with a Ryzen 5900X.

I'm using DLSS on a 2080Ti + 10850K. Rendering resolution 960p to output/display resolution of 1440p. Everything is maxed out and I'm getting 120-144fps everywhere. I'm also on the most current driver.

Not sure what's going on for you guys.

That´s rather unlikely because dlss is completely GPU based.
And if something would be wrong with core allocation in general the problem should occure without dlss, too. But it doesn´t (at least for me)
To be fair I suspected something similar first. I thought something went south while compiling when starting the game but it didn´t. It´s dlss for sure.

Did you check your fps without dlss?
Your GPU should be on par with mine, we should get roughly the same performance.
Can´t check your settings on my system though, because the game won´t let me set an output res. below my native monitor res.
However if you want you could check if you get (significantly) more performance by turning off dlss. Not that this would make any difference in gameplay because (most likely) your fps exceed the refresh rate of your monitor already. But would be interesting to know.

I still suspect a driver issue.

casual gamer, here. checked device manager. it says the latest drivers on both my Intel and GeForce are installed and still nothing wtf am I doing wron. I don't wanna dig too deep

Nah, I have a 1440p 144hz monitor. When I get back on in a bit I will test with it off. If it can hold 144hz stable at max settings, I would be shocked.

I dont even see a DLSS option. Where is it?

In the display options. FSR 2.0 is also there.

options -> Display settings
Same locatiom where you set your resolution, HDR, etc.
If your´re on a amd card it might be called fsr and dlss might be not available..
Damingo54 Oct 19, 2022 @ 12:51pm
I only see AMD FSR even though i have a RTX 2080

Idk, but I'm also guessing it's a driver issue. Running an older Nvidia driver did the trick for me.

Not necessarily since nvidia supports multiple GPU gens. with a single driver. Could very well be that only certain GPU's (as RTX 30XX) are affected.

And as said before: There are already known issues with 220.25 adressed by nvidia (cyberpunk map glitch f.ex.)
However I can play with everything on max 4k output 70% render scale, dlss off and solid 60fps just fine, so no big deal.
But still highly weird and definetly something nvidia/devs. should look into.

I'm having this same issue and here's what i think is happening, with certain 4k monitors the game (regardless of whether dlss is on or off) is rendering in 4k thus giving poor fps even in the menu at times. What's stranger is, i think its stacking 2 rendering options somehow. The "solution" i found was to disconnect the external monitor and play on my 3070 laptops built in display. This allowed me to get normal framerates (at 2k res ultra i was getting 60-70 fps with dlss turned off). So from a supposed 2k to 4k dlss upscale of 30-40fps on the 4k external monitor to a 60-70 fps native on the built in 2k display. Pretty disappointing as i generally have the laptop to the side on a stand for a cleaner desk space and its built-in display doesn't support hdr nor is it a 4k display, so i guess ill hold off playing this game until this issue is resolved.
