i7 3770 OC @4.3 Ghz
Hi, I have a CPU i7 3770 OC @4.3 ghz, GPU3080 Ti, I play all games very demanding in 4k fine, but this one won't start -- it says my cpu is not compatible -- but it's equal to a 4770 non OC, faster than the Intel i5-4330 minimum requirements cpu -- any solutions?

its more of the lack of instructions that the cpu does not have , AVX2 i think rather than it being fast enough.

Unless a modder comes out with a bypass you wont be able too play it.

Speed has nothing to do with the newer instruction set that are present in i5-4330, it's a new architecture that has AVX2, 3770 it's really old by 2022 it come out in 2012 more then 10 years ago is on a dead platform and a quad core and running it at a 4.3ghz it's really holding back that 3080, I was running my 3770k at 4.9ghz in 2012 try a more aggressive overclock.

... i know it's an old cpu, but playing with a TV 4k i still have little bottleneck - but i'm trying to decide between an intel gen 13 or ryzen 7000, but ddr5 cost a lot, so motherboards, these days - however it seems strange to me that the game requires AVX2, neither ps4's APU nor ps4 pro's APU did - and it's not specified in the requirements - anyways i hope it's just a check and a patch comes out, it doesn't make sense

every port has had the requirement and patched it out later. so it actually does make sense.

and if you are looking for what is cheaper, amd all the way, if you don't save up on their cpu's, you certainly will on the motherboard

This feels like a bait... lol

For those who are thinking about upgrading: you can look at Intel Core i5/7 11xx. They are both high performance, good price and AVX-512 (starting with the 12th generation - this instruction has been removed) support which helps a lot in emulators (RPCS3) and workloads.

ryzen would be better if we are speaking in regards to price/performance

I know -- I would like to invest in a mobo with ddr5 / pcie- 5.0 and new features to have more longevity -- normally I change the GPU every 2 years, but CPogni 7 -- this time it was more

but why upgrade your gpu and not your cpu? aren't you suffering from a massive bottleneck atm? i doubt you are getting everything out of your 3080ti with that cpu

I can't say anything about AMD processors - I've never used them. My message was addressed to those who want to upgrade to a platform from Intel.

i'm just saying, you brought up price and performance. when it comes to cpu's it's eventually up to personal preference, but as someone with both an intel and an amd machine i can confirm that amd tends to be cheaper for the same performance

Maybe, I'm not arguing. Maybe a person just doesn't want to change the platform... That's everyone's choice. I, for example, have been using exclusively Intel processors since 1991 )

of course, to each their own. not saying everyone should go to amd, but when price is a factor its the safer bet. unless of course your motherboard still supports current intel cpus

I will most likely be switching to the 11th generation. I've already picked out the components.
