Can't get passed ringing the Bell level 4

I've seen youtubers ring the bell and duck into the alcove before the monster goes by.
But I just can't seem to do it. It doesn't matter if I get to the alcove, I still get killed. I've tried for an hour - too frustrating. Any Advise?

This one you find when you walk past the bell that there is a little bit of hallway you can hide in. Get just close enough to the bell to see the hand icon. Tap your action key once, get ready, and then tap again. Bell will ring and you'll have enough time to hide in that niche.

Yes I know, I run into the "little bit of hallway" (and make it) and get killed every time. I see others on youtube make first time - I just don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Anyway I've given up on the game. I haven't played in over a month. I'm not too interested in playing a game that frustrates me more than gives me enjoyment.
I've moved on.

Yeah, I feel your pain. I gave up in the very next section when you have to dodge a sliding ghoul. Rammed into me over and over. That was my stopping point. There is a good post here on Steam of a person trying this section and you can see their frustration in it too.

Yes, the dodging creature (didn't knew it were a ghul) was exactly the same moment where i stop these very interesting game. A pity about it.

Guys, if anyone still needs help - I managed to solve this moment. You need to do as OKU said (in the comment above mine). Go to the bell, stand behind it, in the middle of the way to the alcove. And touch the bell. You need to touch it twice. The first time you need to get "the silent ring" (without any sound). As soon as you touched it and nothing happened, touch it again, ring (with the sound this time) and go to the alcove. Don't dusk, just run into the alcove and turn around, to face the giant when you are in the hidden place. I did it today.

I finished the game fifteen minutes ago. The sliding ghost wasn't too hard, you just need to get closer to sides and watch his movements. One-two-five times you'll die, but you will learn how he moves. The first times I stand on the right side of the circle. Until he stops (in the light), then moves forward and backward. So, when he returns, I change my side (behind his back, very quickly), now he cannot touch me anymore. After, I try to stay away from him. Really, this is easy, the only thing you need to do is watch how he moves.
