There was a comic series, but I didn't think it was very good.

Aside from that, I'm not sure there are any.

Speaking of books, a book item in-game would be fun and fitting in a lot of maps (Paris, Whittleton Creek, Dartmoor). Would open the door to trapped variety's of books too, such as exploding, emetic, sedative, etc.
