I feel the need to express my concerns about the fact that this forum is being swarmed by people who are spreading lies and misinformation about developers!

As a HITMAN fan it is very unpleasant for me to hear.

I think that most of those people are actual bots and AIs because they all say the same thing about how hard it is to buy the game.

I would understand if they were really having a hard time and were just looking for help, but no, the level of attitude is just insane!

For example, every other thread contains something like:

"It's a scam"
"It's deceptive"
"Pricing is intentionally confusing and/or misleading"
"Disgusting and unfair marketing trick"
"Legal violation"

My only assumption is they didn't read the description carefully enough to understand what they are paying for, because there is the "Comparison Grid" right on the store page!

These people are ruining the image and reputation of my favorite developer, and, honestly, this is not the experience I come to this forum for.

Imagine if you are a new player or a potential customer and you come here for advice, but instead, you see all these false reports about developers being scammers.
This is not true at all.

Even if it looks shady, maybe this is the only technical way to sell the game this way!
I assume the developers will not do something that could damage their reputation and turn players away from them, because that means no money from gamers.

And if we are talking about legal,
I suggest adding to the rules of this particular discussions that accusing developers without clear evidence and/or a court decision is prohibited and is punishable by banning.

Because, as far as I know, no one has proven in court that he was deceived.

If it really was a "scam", Steam would have taken the game off the shelves long ago.

Too many spoiled brats think they're entitled to be treated like kings just because they spent a few dollars on a software product.

I remember this one guy, not long ago, who wrote a wall of text about how he was wronged and the world was treating him unfairly just because he spent 3 dollars on a Hitman sale and didn't get all content that's available. People are just so dumb these days.

The editions are a little hard to understand for a new user, but it's not THAT hard

if there's a clear braindead majority that has problems with something, that means the current solution isn't all that optimal and in this case it could be a combination of Valve and the publisher + sales tactic stigmas in general where people think they can get ripped off, when in fact Valve shows you disclaimers, that you're buying a duplicate item, that you already own and you won't be receiving an additional copy for gifting.
with Hitman being a special case because the publisher prior to the change offered you free remaster upgrades, where you could've double dipped if you didn't care enough.

Prices are confusing and the game has a lot of DLCs I'm an old school hitman player I know time changes and new business models get introduced but this thing really took it too far. Non the less I got all DLCs on sale for a reasonable price and I can say Hitman 3 is alright not perfect.

I'm really frustrated with the current state of the Hitman franchise. I bought Hitman 2016, then had to pay extra for Hitman 2, and now with this third installment, it's even more confusing. Why can't I just buy the latest game without having to own the previous ones?

The constant name changes aren't helping either. It's really difficult to keep track of what's what.

I just want to buy the latest Hitman game and play it. Is that too much to ask?

I love Hitman and want to play more, but I am losing my mind trying to figure out what you actually get with each option, and how that compares to things I already have. The naming is a complete disaster. There's no hate for Hitman from most people; just a lot of confusion at incredibly poorly organized marketing.

I bought this game on Xbox, Epic, and now once more on Steam. And I literally just got scammed by IOI. The description of what I bought clearly says: "brings together the best of HITMAN, HITMAN 2 and HITMAN 3 including the main campaign" and I only have the first campaign.

I'm looking into buying 2 and 3, every review is telling me "it's just a DLC you won't get the campaign"

I literally have no idea how to purchase campaign 2 and 3, which I thought I bought yesterday.

Hitman is one of the best games ever made. Stop complaining and buy the game. At this point regarding pricing. There should be one tier and you get everything. They should really simplify it.

If you are buying HITMAN WOA you are paying for HITMAN 3.
You get all the HITMAN 1 and HITMAN 2 content FOR FREE as an addition.
