Tobias Rieper is my favorite catholic character in all videogames.

He did not have a real father nor a mother, but he was forced to exist due to a very evil man.

He was forced to kill, not for a rightcheous reason, but because he was made to murder.

When he finally killed his "father", he escaped into a church and spend time as a gardener.

And when he was forced back into assasination, he descended, he lost his faith and entered his edgy era.

Then, God called again, and he got his redemption, or as you may say... his Absolution.

And after that, he got up and started working again, with a new found humanity. He found out about the intorspections of his origin, about his missing brother, about the big evil dooming humanity... He was tempted at the end, but yet, he inyected Arthur Edwards with the silly dementia syringe.

And now? He is working as a freelancer, he admits that there will be always be evil, psychotic "people" doing the worst ever. So, by his own will, he used his special powers for good, he killed and judged out of rightcheousness and hate for evil (like the developers said during the freelancer trailer) Sure, he still gets paid for these hits, but come on, everybody deserves to get a good paying job.

And well, that is also why i prefer calling 47 Tobias instead of 47. Because i think he really earned his humanity, even if he is still a bit... introverted.
