The Worst challenges in Hitman Freelancer
Another topic for discussion. I suppose since I am so target fixiated on achieving Mastery level 100 in Freelancer, this is my best option to try to be... somewhat creative.

Anyway, we all know Freelancer has a lot of challenges - 104 to be exact. Some of them are okay, some are passable, and some makes You want to scream 'What were they thinking?!'.

Here is my list for the worst challenges in Freelancer mode:

1. GOAT and Employee of the Year - Someone actually counted that You have to complete at least 125 campaigns to get the latter. And... who has the patience to do that? I am level 96 at the moment, with 22 campaigns completed (and 1 where I screwed up), I have been playing Freelancer for two months minus weekends. And I feel burned out. I am not going through that trouble. I have some books to read and drawings to draw/short stories to write down once I get level 100.
2. Slow but Steady and Top Dog - again, who has the patience to do that? Why did it have to be 50 and 100? Wouldn't 20 and 50 respectively be more optimal?
3. Hardened Assassion, Untouchable and The Hitman - Maybe it's just me being biased, but I heard that Hardcore mode is 'difficult for the sake of being difficult', meaning challenge in it is all about handicapping the player. And I know it's ironic I complain about it, but I am no longer the young me. I can't stand games handicapping me in any way just because they can. So I am not going through that trouble. If I can live without Twitch unlockables, I can certainly live without the Bruiser Suit.
4. Sometimes Maybe Good Sometimes Maybe ♥♥♥♥ - I believe the Youtuber WildGold put it best: 'This is not a difficult challenge, it's idiotic. Whoever put this challenge in the game is a moron. It should have been 1 out of 1, not 10 out of 10.'
5. Bullseye and Strelok - required a lucky combination to get these kills. I actually grinded Strelok starting from 31, and it took me 3 hours to reach 100 kills. 3 hours of grinding replaying the same showdown to get it. Can You blame me for feeling burned out?
6. Puzzle Man and The Burning Man - Same as Bullseye and Strelok. Requires a lucky combination for planning a trap and a lot of grinding.
7. Coast if Clear! - in my opinion getting rid of Lookouts is much harder than Assassins, due to them having Hive-mind AI. Meaning the moment they spot You the whole map is alerted. So most players would rather avoid them.
8. Mr. Clean - What makes this challenge is the worst is that most of the time, no matter how You try, You cannot hide certain bodies. And unfortunately leaving bodies in places where no one goes doesn't count.
9. Prank Caller - 2 years since Freelancer premiered, and this challenge still works when it feels like it. Making it more luck-based rather than skill-based.
10. Cold Feet - the problem is the number required. Why 20? Why not 1 or 5 or 10, freaking anything but 20?
11. Autumn Harvest - 50 kills in Colorado. The map everyone advices to avoid at all cost, and who can blame them? Barely any civilian outfit, 99,9% of NPC are guards/soldiers, making Alerted Territory super difficult, and it has possibly the worst spawning point in the whole mode (the Water Tower). So yeah, not wonder I have only 17 kills so far (with Marrakesh being second with 30).
My word of advice? Play Colorado in Easy Syndicate, max. Normal Syndicate (But beware there is a 1 out of 4 chance it will be alerted). And frankly don't even bother with Payout ojbectives, just bring in duckies and explosive phone and blow them up.

Your turn.

The whole point of freelancer was to give long term goals. They are not meant to be done in a few campaigns

it's supposed to be a grind, it's what people asked for cause they had nothing more to do in the game

Top Dog and whatever the one you get for 10 prestige levels are a little much. Everything else is fine.
Challenges that I will absolutely loathe:
Natural Selection - Eliminate 10 Syndicate Leaders with natural/crafted poisons.
Don't Lick Me - Eliminate 25 Syndicate Leaders with Poison.

With there being 18 missions every campaign, for 4 of them I will be forced to use the least efficient assassination method contingent on RNG:
1) they need to consume food/drink,
2} I will need to ensure nobody else consume the food/drink,
3) I will need to ensure Ambrose Island is the showdown map each time.
3a) they need to hang around the bar.
Alternatively, I could use a Lethal Syringe, but the gear drop isn't ensured.

Employee of the Year - Eliminate 500 Syndicate Leaders.
That's over a month of my life gone. I'd much rather cheat.

A Necklace to Die For - Strangle 10 Syndicate Leaders wearing a necklace.
Completely dependent on RNG spawning them in with a necklace, RNG spawning them with an assassin, RNG spawning them in a crowded area, and it has to be the leader - nobody else.
High in Fiber - Eliminate 25 Syndicate Leaders with Fibre Wire.
Fibre Wire is detrimental. It gets the leader closer to a dumping spot when you're in a nip, but ranged methods are far more consistent (a running theme for all my most hated challenges).

The only challenge I loved was Return to Sender - Eliminate a Syndicate Leader with an item retrieved from a Suspect. "Haha, Leader go boom :bricktherat:"

Note: Autumn Harvest was my first map achievement. What? I like Arms Trafficking! I like sniping from the water tower even more!

The one where you have to burn 100? suspects... that is counter intuitive to the game where your suppose to only kill the target.

The aforementioned Burning Man. Actually it's just 25. But yeah, even if You kill just a target, it's mind-tiring as hell.

Oh I guarantee You it will take more than a month to complete. If 23 campaigns I completed so far took me almost 3 months (and that means 92 leaders killed without cheesing), it will take at least a year to complete.
Like I quoted, you would need to complete 125 campaigns to get 500 leaders killed. Without cheesing.

You could do it faster by killing them and then failing the showdown. So always just two missions before the next showdown

Outside of a several like Top Dog, Slow But Steady, Prestige 10, Employee of the Year and GOAT, the rest are all achievable by playing Freelancer at your own pace. I should know since I have almost every achievement outside of the aforementioned ones. Just play the game and have fun instead of grinding out the trophies.

Adapt to what the game gives you. If a leader spawns with a necklace then take fiberwire and get double points for High In Fiber and A Necklace to Die For. If they are dehydrated then bring some lethal poison or pick a map like Mendoza where you can craft a lethal poison to get double count for Don't Lick Me and Natural Selection. For Burning Man just knock out a suspect in a remote area, use the phone and watch as all the suspects come to you so you can just stack 5 or 6 of them in a pile and burn them all at once. It's really not that difficult. Bonus points for getting credit toward Let The Chips Fall Where They May and Prank Caller by doing this strat.
