The game won't launch

Hey, I’m having trouble launching the game. After not playing for a couple of days, it just won’t start anymore.

Here’s what happens: I hit “play” in Steam, it opens the game launcher, I click “play” again, and it looks like it’s about to launch, but then it just crashes after a few seconds. No error messages or anything.

I’ve been troubleshooting all day yesterday. I tried reinstalling my drivers, reinstalling the whole game, deleting save files from AppData, even tried those command line arguments to skip the intro and launcher… nothing seems to work.

Any ideas what I should do?

Yeah, I submitted a form on their website earlier. By the way, do you happen to know how quickly they respond?

I already tried, no luck. it’s crashing right in front of the logo ioi (in the ‘press enter’ menu) thing shows up, so it’s probably not the launcher

How long have you been experiencing this? Have you contacted support? If so, was there any feedback?

Whenever you get a response from support you could get back to Windows. Linux is a great option for gaming, ever since the release of the SteamDeck .

Yeah, that could solve a lot of problems, but I'm afraid not many people here would know how to install Linux.

what fixed it for me was deleting nvngx_dlss.dll in the game files, after that it worked without a problem

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that finally was the one I needed.

I've tried so many things, ♥♥♥♥♥♥, supports last idea was reinstall all of steam and I'd kinda given up hope as no, you're not worth half a terabyte for a maybe.

I finally found a solution. The game was crashing because of ray tracing. Although I played with them for about 140 hours, but the crash only happened now. The solution was to simply turn them off.
I also managed to contact ioi support, but all they can do is provide links to help materials from Microsoft.

Thanks to everyone who gave advice, it was a valuable experience

For the love of... Ive tried the following
Reinstall, verify game files, update graph card, update cpu, deleted the file "nvngx_dlss.dll", used skip launcher command, and nothing has worked so far, anybody got any new fresh ideas to try?

Try running the benchmark in the primary Hitman launcher, alternating different settings (for example, reset to default values), if it starts, then the game will also start accordingly
