Sniper Assassin seems to be not working?
I was doing Situs Inversus and I eliminated Soders by throwing away his heart, he is said to be not required to be killed with a sniper rifle, so I think this shouldn't be the problem.

And then I cleared Yamazaki's room by pacifying all the body guards, to make sure nobody will see me later, and also because I was bored waiting for her. I also didn't get spotted at all.

When Yamazaki entered her room, I was standing right behind her and shot her in her head with a sniper rifle (suppressed). I escaped but I didn't get Sniper Assassin.

My previous attempt was pacifying Yamazaki first, and then shot her with a sniper rifle, but I didn't get Sniper Assassin either.

I checked the scores and it showed, no body found, 0 non-target kill penalty, never spotted etc, therefore I have no idea why this is not working.

I believe on multiple target maps, all of them need to be killed with a sniper to count.

So Soders needs a bullet.

I just checked the requirements for Sniper Assassin under Situs Inversus again, and they are:
  • Complete Situs Inversus.
  • Assassinate Yuki Yamazaki with a sniper rifle.
  • Only eliminate the targets.
  • Do not get spotted.
It specifically mentioned that Yuki Yamazaki has to be killed with a sniper rifle but didn't mention Erich Soders, so that's why I think it is not necessary to kill Soders with a sniper rifle.
I mean, both Yamazaki and Soders are targets but they only mentioned Yamazaki, unless that's a mistake?

Then not sure.

I think Hitman 2 I shot the heart with the sniper rifle. Never did it in 3.

You can look up silent sniper kills on YouTube and try to replicate that. If you got a clean kill on Yuki... I think Soders is the problem, lots of scripted events around his death.
Nevermind now, I just did it by shooting her while she is on the bridge, still killing Soders in the same way (throwing away his heart).

Now that I have succeeded, I suspect that the game might not count it as a sniper rifle elimination considering the short distance between the target and where the bullet was fired, even though I met all the challenge requirements.

Edit: I just looked up some silent sniper assassin videos and there are people getting sniper assassin by sniping her in the sauna. I'm still not sure, but I think it was probably the camera. I probably got recorded by the camera and so it didn't count as never spotted. I am certain that I got the never spotted bonus scores though.

Range doesn't matter. You can point blank someone or shoot them from the opposite side of the map.

Turn on the SA indicator in the menu, if you haven't already.

Oh I didn't know that feature exists, thanks for letting me know :)

But still, Silent Assassin indicator only checks if you met the requirements for Silent Assassin, which is slightly different from Sniper Assassin, because you can have body found in Sniper Assassin.

True, but you mentioned that you may have been spotted on camera. The indicator will show that and you can destroy the recorder to go back to green.
As a useful note, despite his appearance Erich Sodors is not an NPC. Mechanically, he's more like an object, like the virus sample in Sapienza. He only exists as destroyed or not destroyed. This is why his body can't be found (he doesn't have one). It's also why it's not required to kill him with a sniper rifle. From a programmatic standpoint, Hokkaido is a mission with only one target: Yuki Yamazaki.
