I've been playing Hitman games since 2000 so am willing to give VR the extra time but I understand that not everyone does so your mileage may vary ;)
I really hope they sprinkle some love into the VR version, and by that I mean pretty much an entire overhaul of the mechanics.
Gotta say though, slapping people in the face is very fun.
that was the second thing i did yesterday, first was touching some girl's asses :D
What is the offhand used for if it can't be used for weapons? Is it a design choice to keep it similar to how 47 only uses his one hand, or is it blatant laziness?
I will try it myself soon to answer my own questions but it's good for me to see everyone's own opinion so that I'm not overlooking anything.
Honestly though, the lack of roomscale is a bummer, I'd say that's a modern requirement for VR titles nowadays.
Your offhand is used for movement
You're a onehanded guy in a wheelchair, your offhand is controlling the wheelchair
The offhand is used for aiming throwable objects. It's also used with the main hand for choking or using the fiber wire. But yeah, other than that, the offhand is a dead weight.
And no one believed me when I said Hitman's engine was not built for VR and they would have been better off making an entirely new game for it if that's what they wanted to do.
Instead they shoved it into a design that didn't plan for it ahead of time and this is what you get.
For VR games to be good they need to be the main focus, not some secondary mode shoved in years later.
