Another Sale, But Still Confused
So every sale I come to check back here to see how messed up this marketing tactic is.

I own Hitman I and Hitman II, bought the complete version when they were released, so all DLCs and everything.

Now all I want is Hitman III, with all the DLCs.

From my understanding, to do that I am forced to buy Hitman I and II again, becuase it's forced into a bundle in which Hitman III with all the extra content is. Right?

So I'm buying 2 games I already own, and forced to pay an extra charge which I don't want to.

In other words, there's no way of only buying Hitman III with all the DLCs.

I guess I will wait again, at some point this game will be like $5, maybe in 2030 or something, but then I will wait till 2030. I just don't feel like it's fair demanding me to buy 2 games I already own, so that I can play the 3rd game in the trilogy.

WOA is the same price as H3 was when it was standalone. You're essentially getting the earlier games for free when your purchase H3.

That would make sense if this sale would have happened a year after H3 was launched, but it's been 3 years, soon 4 and what I've noticed is that games that are years old, are no longer priced at their initial pricing.

Also, I wouldn't be this cheap, if the publishers wouldn't be this cheap either. I guess I'll just wait, but I do appreciate your response. Thank you. :lunar2019piginablanket:

NO.

As has been explained to you before, they are not standalone games. It's one game which has the content from H (2016), H2, and H3. You cannot buy only H3 any more.

I'm sorry that after two years you still don't understand this.

Firstly, I made that clear in my post.

Second, the only thing you should be sorry about, is not understanding how scummy this is.

I paid a full price for Hitman 1 and 2 including their DLCs.
So at launch, we are talking about $80 for the special edition, maybe more?

For the sake of convenience let's settle that the full game with DLC was $80 at launch and no sale.

Therefore:

Hitman 1 (DLCs edition) = $80
Hitman 2 (DLCs edition) = $80

So now, despite owning and having finished these games, you think it is totally acceptable to price Hitman 3 with the DLCs, 4 years after it's initial launch for over $100?

You'd pay for that? Knowing that the price of Hitman 3 over these 4 years, as with any other game would have already dropped, but they expect you to literally "repurchase" two existing games, so that they can keep the price for Hitman 3 high?

Yes, you're right, you should be sorry if you cannot fathom this. Truly tragic.

Edit: A $100 for somebody who hasn't played Hitman 1-2, this is a good deal, because they will also have the complete version of Hitman 3 and I will admit to that, but it ain't a good deal for me. I hope you can finally see the point being made.

No. You clearly did not, because you still keep showing that you misunderstand what you're purchasing.

Alright dude, whatever you say, but if you learn to read, then just read the post I made.

It's not a bundle of different games. I'm sorry that's confusing for you.

Afaik, IOI has a Carryover process on your IOI account if you own previous titles. To import into the new World of Assassination paradigm.

I appreciate it Kot. 🙂

The thumbnail on the top level steam store page (not product page) shows the product name as "HITMAN World of Assassination" (NOT part one--no mention of this in the product description) and when you hover over it, the description literally states that it includes freelancer, for the sale price of CAD $3.89.

Then when you select it and hit the product page, it tells you that same product is actually $38 or whatever, and the product that's on sale for $3.89 is "HITMAN World of Assassination Part One" which doesn't include the freelancer mode or VR... there's simply no defending this unless you're a vegetable or a troll.

No one is defending that. Some people are just trying to help others out in the best way they can by explaining what is and what is not and guiding people to the thing they most want to have in the simplest way they can get there.

Except tmftwe is not here to guide, but to criticise and therefore I lack respect towards him.

He deliberately ignores the point of their being 2 games bundled into Hitman 3 now, because they renamed it. And as Ryan stated, you have to be vegetable to not realize this or to even assume that any of this is consumer friendly.

I've been and will continue to be grateful for those who tried to help and I know that tmwtfe is not posting with good intent, but to mock.

As has been explained multiple times, this is not a bundle of three different games. It's one game. It has much of the content of H (2016), H2, and H3 in H3's engine, but it is not separate games. I'm sorry that that's confusing to you and you feel entitled to a discount, but that hasn't been on the cards for two years now.

You remind me of a Karen who worked at a grocery store, when I was looking for large eggs, but they didn't have any in stock, except small ones.

So I asked this lady if she can check for large eggs in the back to fill the shelf, and she replied, "These are eggs too".

Clearly she knows exactly what I meant, but she ignored it just like you.

I get it that you're angry and frustrated that you're completely powerless in the face of how ioi have set up their game and their sales, that you feel you've been ripped off because you don't get a better deal, that you feel that they owe you, so you're taking it out on users that are merely stating facts. I hope it makes you feel better, but it's not going to get you what you want.
