The terrible desing of Safehouse in Freelancer
OK, this one is on something less game related, but I just got a thought while walking through what little I got unlocked in Safehouse so far.
Namely... Whoever designed this Safehouse is a total moron. It fails on almost everything. Starting with the most obvious, when You start Freelancer from level 1, You have no access to bedroom, kitchen or even bathroom - basic commodities every single house needs, in order to recuperate. Just... How Agent 47 takes care of his 'needs' in that situation? And even better, the bedroom is not available until level 31.

As for the house itself, I kinda like that it has a garden on the roof, to make it camouflaged. Which is cool... but there is a pier, a road in the forest that suddenly ends, and... a helipad. A freaking Helipad! These three things pretty much ruin the whole camouflage thing. It's kinda like Santa Fortuna. Think about it - a poor village, in the middle of nowhere, and a super-rich villa right in the middle of it. It just screams that something is wrong here.
Same with Safehouse - even without the helipad and a pier, that road that abruptly ends will tell anyone checking the satellite photo that something might be there.
Honestly, I think 47 would be better off living in an apartment in the heart of the city. At least that would justify the helipad, the pier, and private garage, among other things.
Kinda like how Janus lived in Whittleton Creek. Or better, Blake Dexter in Absolution.

Your opinion?

My opinion is that I don't care about mansion upgrade. I only care about unlocking guns and gadgets to make the missions more diversified. I dislike when I have to go from chopping trees to the kitchen and then the basement. I guess some people care about this stuff.
