Sniper rifles bought with Briefcase in Freelancer?

So I started playing Freelancer, learning to play by grinding Assassination Syndicates.
I noticed several in-mission challenges demand sniper kills. But...
When You a sniper rifle from a supplier, do You get a briefcase, too? Or is it on Your back, and You ready to be shot to kingdom come by everyone?
The same if You pick up a sniper rifle (or anything bigger than a pistol) from Your Safehouse? Do You get a briefcase, too? Or do You have to acquire one, first?

Any large weapon that you cannot hide, whether you buy it from the Supplier or bring it on a mission, will automatically be given to you in a briefcase. So don't worry about being seen when buying.

1st large weapon or one handed tools (bat, car battery) go into a briefcase when leaving the safehouse. 2nd large weapon will be holstered on your back. Supplier always packs illegal weapons that don't go in your pocket.
