I want to buy Hitman 3, how do i even do that?

The most confusing store page ever, i own the new Hitman 1 and 2. Is 3 the one on offer for £2.99? Although it looks like some bizarre add on pack featuring that Asshat Colin McGregor.

The Standard Edition called just World of Assassination/WoA includes Hitman 1, 2 and 3 maps, except the H2 expansion pass content(New York, Haven Island maps, some bonus missions and sports content) and the other DLCs.
The WoA Part One includes only Hitman 1 maps with the Patient Zero Campaign and some bonus missions.(in the Standard Edition, you get the same thing for H1)
The Part One can also be upgraded to the Standard Edition by buying the WoA Upgrade Pack.
Deluxe Edition is basically the Standard Edition with 3 DLCs(Hitman 2 Expansion Pass, Deluxe Pack and Seven Deadly Sins collection) Deluxe Pack and 7DS Collection are only cosmetics and all of the DLCs can be bought separately.
There is also a comparison grid on the Store Page if you scroll a little bit down.

Location importing isn't available anymore, since Hitman 3 was renamed WoA. You gotta buy the game again.

What are you failing to understand? It doesn't matter if you own previous games. You gotta buy the entire game to play Hitman 3.

You gotta buy the Hitman 2 DLC, too. It's called Hitman 2 Expansion Pass which contains the New York and Haven Island maps , just like in the gold edition.

Content transfer has been disabled in January 2023, unfortunately you will have to buy that DLC again if you buy the Standard Version.

I'm trying to buy this game and I've never seen a more consumer hostile purchasing model. It seems like no matter what I buy, I am paying for content with some degree of multiplicity.

Maybe the best option is to just go play something else. Hitman is fun but it's not worth being treated like this.

You're not wrong. I bought the previous 2 games but because I took too long to play Hitman 3 they expect me to rebuy stuff. Why bother even playing when its so convoluted and painful? The answer is, you shouldn't.

I bought Hitman 3 when it was discounted for owning Hitman 1 and 2. At the time, your purchase carried over. I hadn't gotten around to playing 3 though and now I have to rebuy the dlc for Hitman 2 because they rebranded it as World of Assassination. I have seen so many posts of people confused and to me it is confusing. This game comes with most of the content. You have to buy specific dlc and even I am confused at times. There's a deluxe upgrade that used to contain levels, but doesn't anymore? Reviews are out of date because they keep changing how stuff works. It's just needlessly complex. Why doesn't the base game just come with all the levels? Why take out only 2 levels and put that in a separate dlc?

There was never a time where you got a discount on Hitman 3 for owning 1 & 2. You got the access passes for free. It's just now that everyone does.

No, you don't. If you bought H3 before it became World of Assassination, while location importing was still active, there's nothing to rebuy because the H2 Expansion Pass would have been assigned at that time. They didn't take away DLC from anyone who bought it before the change.

Same as it always was. The expansion was always an add-on, even the original H2 version. It's more than 2 levels at that. You've got Haven Island & New York, 2 sniper maps, and bonus missions.
