The "part 1" thing on sale is terribly misleading and is a glorified demo. It contains only part 1 of the trilogy with maps from 8 years ago. Upgrading that to the complete game costs $40.
https://store.steampowered.com/sub/981937/
Buy part 1, the thing on sale right now for $12, then the thing I linked for $16. That gets you the basic trilogy plus the DLC for Hitman 1. Then you buy the Hitman 2 DLC for $10, which is here:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1829590/HITMAN_3_Access_Pass_HITMAN_2_Expansion/
That gets you all the maps and 95% of the content out there for the least amount of money. You are correct that it is way too difficult and you shouldn't need to go to a forum for help in just buying the game, but there it is.
so if i own nothing, i buy https://store.steampowered.com/sub/981937/ & https://store.steampowered.com/app/1829590/HITMAN_3_Access_Pass_HITMAN_2_Expansion/ and then i own all hitman content?
H1,2,3 and some dlc but not all.
crazy how convoluted they have made this, makes me not want to buy anything, never spent this much time figuring out how to buy a game ffs.
1) Hitman World of Assassination Part 1. This gets you the first game in the trilogy and all the DLC for Hitman 1. This is the thing you forgot in your post. You're not allowed to buy the upgrade without having this first. This is $12
https://store.steampowered.com/sub/963307/
2) World of Assassination Upgrade. This gets you Hitman 2 and 3. Without this, part
1 is a terrible deal. Together they are pretty good. This is $16
https://store.steampowered.com/sub/981937/
3) Hitman 2 Expansion pass. This is all the DLC for Hitman 2 and unlocks the rest of the available maps. This is $10. It's the one that makes the huge button in these forum posts so I won't link it again.
The DLC for Hitman 3 is pretty optional and that's all the stuff I didn't include. The good stuff is 12 + 16 + 10 = $38 total. The first two things will get you started for $28 and covers 90% of the content. You kinda have to buy 1) and 2) together. Thing 3) on the list gives some unique items and the remaining maps and brings you up to 95% of the content for an additional $10. The remaining 5% is all the other stuff combined and isn't good value for the money. Only pick that up after you've played the game and want some cosmetics.
I agree, this whole thing is kind of ridiculous to figure out. Once you've got the game, it's pretty fun, so there's that lol.
This should really be mass reported on Steam. It's such a dishonest way to try & trick people. Thankfully, I was immediately suspicious when I saw it was half the price it was from the last big sale. I knew something had to be up.
In my region it's on the store as "HITMAN 3, HITMAN 3 Access Pass" - That first part kind of makes it look like Hitman 3 is there, along with the 1 & 2.....which makes no sense, because I already own 1 & 2, so why is the option even there to buy absolutely nothing new, but content I already own in the first place?!
They could just have a separate option of "Hitman 1 content, Hitman 2" as two seperate 'DLC' packages, but I guess that would just make way too much sense & be too straightforward. Given their history of unnecessary anti-consumer always online live service, etc, it certainly looks like something done in bad faith.
Other games have already done this. You can list separate packages on the store, that redirect to the same game launcher.
It makes me sick how many boot lickers & sycophants are out there. You'd think they actually work for the company with these stupid excuses.
Evidently you missed the whole "HITMAN 3, HITMAN 3 Access Pass" taken verbatim from the store. Gee, I wonder why they say "HITMAN 3" so many times like that in there....could it be to deliberately mislead people :/
I’m a bootlicker how? I never said to buy it and I think the bundle is dumb and IOI shouldn’t have bothered to begin with especially without changing the names I’m not even excusing them
It’s said that because it’s needed to access the dlc/access pass. Also if you read its hitman 3 access pass: hitman 1 season pass or etc.
yh, cheers i managed to get it all sorted, i have played a lot on xbox but it just left gamepass so i thought i would buy on steam.
that unlinked woa upgrade saved me a few £, so cheers again.
