Black screen on startup

Hello.
Today I tried to play the game the first time but haven't managed to get farther than IO launcher. Launched it several times but in every case after clicking 'Play' all I saw was a black screen. No sound, no crashing to desktop, no reaction to pressing any keys (except ALT-F4).
Tried to reinstall the game, verify integrity of game files, update all relevant drivers and remove that HITMAN3 folder from AppData/Local/IO Interactive - nothing has helped so far. Does anyone know what it might be?

Same problem. But if I wait long enough (5+ min) game launches and plays fine.

Deleting cache file not helping. Allowing it in Firewall also not helping.

Oh, I did't realize that waiting would work, thanks. After 4-5 minutes of waiting game actually started. Still, it is weird of it to behave this way. I could understand if there was some kind of cache creating step with a visual warning beforehand, but showing a black screen and doing nothing? That's atrocious.

Check your video settings as I had same problem after an update. Black screen, though, had the background music. Override the default resolution and perhaps this will work. Hope this helps.

Also tried to change resolution and viewmode before creating this thread but it didn't do anything for me.

Well, sadly, I haven't found any other solutions but waiting. Scrolling Reddit for a few minutes can distract for long enough before the game starts.

I had the same problem. For the past few days since I installed the game, everything was working great. Yesterday, I started playing around with the HDR settings because the game looked washed out. Eventually, I disabled HDR in the game and used only the HDR offered by Windows.

Today, when I tried to launch the game, I encountered a black screen, just like the one you described. I closed the game with ALT+F4, restarted it, and in the game options available from the launcher, I re-enabled HDR. This time, the game started without any problems.

After entering the game, I disable HDR, the display looks perfect, and the game works!

I have a blackscreen too, but the game does not start at all. i played around the settings but nothing seems to work. even reinstalling...
any help?

This happened to me just recently. The first time I reinstalled and it seemed ok. But next time I tried to run it, black screen no music. Waited and it finally started properly after 12 minutes. I tried with HDR on or off, and with Fullscreen rather than Exclusive, but it did not seem to make a difference.

I have a similar problem. The game crashes after I press enter on the start screen. I`ve tried everything from reinstalling, verifying the insalled data, to even checking for corrupted data via cmd. The only thing that might be of value to know is that there is no "Loading" during the loading screen before it crashes. Additionally I have two Hitman WOA applications on my NVIDIA launcher and I don`t know why. It used to freeze my entire PC but now only crashes and closes the game.

Update: I got it to work again by reinstalling Windows entirely.

Update: Scratch that. Game stoped working again🤬
