I haven't worn either, but both kinds are allegedly super comfy since they're usually made from silk. Kimonos can get pretty complicated to tie and take practice. It's like a necktie for your whole body. I'd recommend a yukata if you don't have a Japanese person nearby to help you put on a kimono.
kimono's are usually more fancy and formal like mentioned
Just curious as I really like traditional robes for around the house and might just check out yukatas.
i did order one! I went with a retailer called japan avenue, and bought the all black Yukata. still waiting for it to arrive, and it did cost a pretty penny (roughly like 89-90 something) shipping was free though. So there is that. But if you want updates on the quality and how i like it, ill let you know when it gets here no problem!
