Game wont launch

[RedWithTheObviouslyLongUsername]

The game refuses to launch with the error "app configuration unavailable". I've:
Reinstalled the game several times
Verified integrity of the game's cache several times
Added skip_launcher to launch options
Ran the .exe from the local files
This started happening since a random patch several months ago, they somehow still haven't fixed this. If there's any other game specific fixes please list them here, cause I'm genuinely at a loss on how to run this game

im not getting any error messages but my game is either just not launching or just closing itself instantly after i click play from the launcher. this update really broke the game lol verifying didnt do ♥♥♥♥ for me

Same here, I tried restarting my steam/computer, skipping launcher, clearing download cache, verifying file integrity and deleting appinfo.vdf.
None of it worked and I'm still getting hit with the "app configuration unavailable".

It's odd because it was also crashing yesterday but I got it working with skip launcher since hitting config/launch game from the launcher also crashed.
But all of a sudden today, its just not working at all and is now hitting me with the "app configuration unavailable" when I run it.

Hope they fix this soon.

Hope they fix this soon. (And if i don't skip launcher it just crashes from when i hit either options or play game)

Click on settings option on Hitman and go to properties
On General Tab look at bottom for launch option
Paste this command and it'll start working

I managed to get it working. What worked for me was launching steam in admin mode and then setting Launcher.exe and HITMAN3.exe to also launch in admin mode via the File Explorer with Properties->Compatibility. Once I did that, in combination with -skip_launcher, the game launched without complaining about app configuration.

I had the same issue and contacted IOI's support. They gave me a link to the latest Intel graphics driver updates (version 31.0.101.3790 in my case - 10th generation core CPU) and with them installed, Hitman launched again.

The drivers are not available using Windows Update, you'll need to download them from Intel directly (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19344/intel-graphics-windows-dch-drivers.html if Steam allows to post links). Also after installation one of the audio drivers caused my laptop to remain silent, I had to roll back that driver.
