Freelancer tools disappear
Just expressing sadness after seeing my tools are gone after a failed campaign and seeing answers on google. What a pathetic idea

It's a temporary affliction and the cure is another mission.

Take one syndicate and call me in the morning.

I completed my second Hardcore campaign after dying on my first attempt. So with no Tools and no Merces. Believe me when I say this, the tool don't matter as much as you think they do
not everyone is very good at the game and most importantly it's lame to let me have a briefcase with like 20 items to slot and they disappear from the 'safehouse'.

You can regain those tools quickly if you find the right maps and know how to craft some of them.

For instance knife + fish = sedative poison bottle + science table = Sedative Syringe.
Some maps has remote bomb you can collect and bring back, others might have other tools. Bring back as much tools as possible, and when you open the reward box, it'll give a more updated list of anything you don't own.

All the tools help you with, is making the missions shorter as you can cause accidents or poison guards right off the get-go... But without that you can still complete the mission, just less likely to finish those objective, or take a longer time to get said poison.

For instance in the New York bank map, if you spawn in the garage, there is a cabinet you can break into the moment you leave the garage area, it always has a Chloroform bottle.

New York and Miami has these sort of medicine cabinets if you wanna collect poisons.

Hokkaido I think has those science workstation for making syringe, but no actual plants for you to collect that is poison, though you might find medicine cabinets there since it's a hospital.

Level up your mastery and you can get a battery for electric based accidents, best used in New York or Haven Island or "Ambrosia" Island? Where there is plenty of water and wet surfaces.

Many maps has water dispensers and a power outlet nearby, take a silenced pistol and shoot at each one to create a trap.

If you didn't lose freelancer tools, you'd just end up owning everything after a while. You already do do this with guns, but I think they envisioned freelancer tools to be more campaign defining than I find them to be.

if you don't lose your tools after losing, what's the point of not losing?
People coming here to tell me where to find stuff, talk about talking besides the point. Don't respond if you can't understand what my complaint is.

Most of the fun is in exploration and messing around really.
If you truly want to have it your way, look into mods like randomizer mods or something.

There are 1000's of contracts in contracts mode, go play those if you want a mode with endless replay value where you have zero risks and no penalties.

I think you've missed the entire point of freelancer, the game already has tons of missions and modes where you can't lose anything.

That you don't like rogue-lite elements in the rogue-lite mode.

The first time I died? I electrocuted myself in Marrakesh

I think we've all done that. (In Marrakesh or elsewhere.)

Hahaha, true. Saw some more examples of that on Reddit with the current ET, The Broker

I've also managed to blow myself up by dropping a Propane Flask while in a crowd, not noticing there was a smoker in there

And what exactly is your complain? Failing a campaign has consequences in form of losing your gear. Accept it or not, that's a part of this mode.

to be completely honest, those freelancer tools are garbage when you get the collector's items. The only tools I ever use are explosives for the sub-objectives in some missions
