May 11 Patch MEGATHREAD
Greetings everyone! As some of you may be aware, we have a significant HITMAN update scheduled for today.

Here is some info:

Maintenance will start at 12pm CEST - Estimated downtime is 3 hours.

The patch will be live and ready to download at 1PM CEST.

We’ve deployed a server side update to fix the freelancer prestige xp
Issue and some missing challenges on the latest ET.

Not sure if it's intended or not, or even the effect / bug of this specific patch (been a while since I played Hitman games), but recollecting the behavior of enforcer's visual threat indicator in h1/h2 (at master difficulty) - if a player disabled it, it did not disable audio indicator.

Having played first h3 mission yesterday (at master) disabling npc icons + visual indicator literally leaves the player blind to whether an npc is or isn't an enforcer. The sound plays quietly for like 0.5s - maybe 1s and cuts off.

It doesn't look like if it was intended.

Anyway, I rechecked that with a fresh mission start - that (now obviously) bug is no longer present, so something / somewhat triggered it during the earlier mission gameplay. The bug also is persistent (I still have the savegame, should you want to debug it).

Hoping to see something with freelancer change. Game crashes too often. Nearly impossible to finish larger challenges. progression is bleh because of it.
Would be nice to have an offline mode so I can at least start from a save point when I come back from a crash.
This thing where I'm on a last mission, and I'm 13 feet away from the exit on a perfect run and then crash with no crash report window or anything. That's really annoying.
Come back to having not done the mission, and my pistols that I've collected are gone. Even though I never kitted them.
Just today alone it has happened so many times to me. I feel like I already need a break from all these new "features" that have been introduced.

Yes! This will happen after the ET has expired. :)

The new patch introduces some new issues...
Frame Generation is not selectable in the Game-launcher, even when DLSS is enabled. Frame Generation can only be activated in the game itself.

Also there is a problem that now tones of noise with ray tracing reflections occur in different areas of the game, with the previous patch this was not the case. I was using an RTX 4090 with the latest GRD 531.79 @ Windows 11 22H2 btw.

Update: It looks like the reflection quality is stuck to "Low"-setting every time you start a new game, even if you changed it to "High" in game before, this seems to be a bug since the new patch and could possibly explain why i see such strong pixel noise in RT reflections...

I'm not a big fan of the NY bank vault nerfs. It's a bit extreme to nerf the payout AND make it impossible to shut the lasers off. I'd rather it still be possible to shut them off but maybe make it harder/you have to go more out of the way to turn them off, while the payout still reduced.

You can just sneak under the lasers, and even if you screw up, the exit is right down the hall to run out and leave. Just don't do the vault until you've already completed the kills.

I've found you can even get the shotgun if you purposely fail the lasers, as long as you open the vault as a robber, when they call off the vault alert, go back and steal the bars there, and most importantly, don't change disguises until after the shotgun has spawned.

If you open the vault as a robber, change disguises, change back to robber and steal the gold, the shotgun won't spawn.

Wow not only is the VRAM leak fixed my FPS has gone up a lot since this patch! I was averaging around 110FPS before and now I'm getting around 170FPS! 2560x1440, everything turned on and maxed out, i9-9900k, 4070 ti. Nice work iOi!

That will be the frame-generation I'm sure. FPS hasn't changed since January (before they introduced the memory leak) which took them 4 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ months to fix... and this is on an RTX 3080 OC, Intel 10700K.

Well, the new ET is out and the old ones challenges still didn't complete.

If you read the road map for May....you'll see "The Deceivers" doesn't expire until 22 May 23.
