Freelancer mode is too hard
I am frustrated, it is too hard. I do few missions and i die then and all is lost. What is the point. And guns are so expenssive i cant afford silenced gun. Well looks like i am not so good in that game.

You should complete your weapon collection before doing hard mode so you have plenty of back up options, assassin's pistol is easy to replace, but I like the krugermier in hard mode for it's sub sonic feature since everyone has better hearing in hard mode. I would personal suggest doing a normal campaign if you fail to recollect your gear and get money to buy tools, hard mode is tough enough without missing additional gear

Where can i shift normal and hard mode? And where is best to find silenced pistol?

After you beat your first campaign you have the toggle option via the computer on the left side of the mission map in your safe house.

Easiest silenced pistol is the one the assassin's drop during a showdown. You can also find one buried in Sgail

You're right, looks like I misread it. Freelancer gets much easier once you've build up your equipment and safehouse ( which has free items you can bring and can't lose). Best advice in that case is make sure your first syndicate has New York as a map, tons of free items, and robbing the bank gets you 10k+ which helps you get geared up fast. Also, the elite guard disguise makes it easy to walk around and get most loot boxes to add a few additional items.

Don't play it then if you feel it's hard. There is lots of another mode in game and I think this game need this kind of harder mode to play. That ordinary storymode or what ever they call it, is too boooooring to play after have play it so long time.

thanks for all advices, i will try them.
Finnjvl Mar 3, 2023 @ 6:14pm
Oh yes... Get and use more Sieker than another weapons to have NPCs out of you way, they dont see you whan they are sic or puke... and also Kalmer to pacify NPC and get discuises. Before to have Kalmer, use Colacans and hammers etc to pacify, they do same job...almost.
Using those two weapons make a big difference in Freelancer. Normaly I don't use explosives but in Freelancer sometimes in very hard plaxes just kaboom and run is best strategy.

It's been said already, but having access to more Equipment and Equipment slots will help, but understanding what you can get away with in the "Hitman AI Universe" is absolutely crucial and is what allowed me to beat a full campaign.

While a Silenced pistol is extremely powerful, being able to lure targets where you want them, and using explosives in ways that won't immediately compromise are part of elements you should absolutely know.

This is also something I've seen streamers fail at - but remember that if you're spotted trespassing, you can simply stop moving and the guards will escort you out.

If you want another spicy fact about AI and is probably the most hilarious thing I've come to realise, is that any Target or Guards suspicious of you will follow you around, meaning you can finish them off in a bathroom and there will be no follow-up to that event unless of course someone is a witness to the actual crime.

So with that said, your target is a receptionist and has the white dot on their head? Make them aware of you and drag them in the nearest bathroom.

Things like these are what makes up the Hitman rulebook predictable and very accessible for veterans.

Devil Duck is my default "plan b" in freelancer. And if the target picks it up, you can just casually walk to the exit before triggering it for an easy escape

I can help.

You can get your first silent gun easy in Map: Whittleton Creek. Some of this guys on a house carry SMG with supressor.

You can get a silent pistol by killing an Assassin in the "Last stand mission". The 2 first missions are EASY trust me but you need to save the best map you know for last, I usually do "the last stand" in Sapienza Italy.

How to locate the Syndicate Target
Wait for them in a meeting. If you see a normal dude, that's probably an Assassin and carries a Silent Pistol. Try to usually knock them all out with tools or the previous SMG with supressor. (be careful where you shoot, because every missing bullet on walls can be hear)

Beating the campaing gives you 30.000 cash and some Legendary weapon (sometimes).

The idea is simple. Complete mission after mission, get cash, buy ANY GUN, collect them and time to time, the vendor will start selling you stuff you don't have. THERE ARE TONS OF GUNS AND TOOLS TO COLLECT.

Don't be afraid of reset the campaing. Some vendor can sell you a Lockpick for 3.000, having a lockpick is very useful.

Your priority it's to get a Silent Gun from an Assassin or the SMG with supressor and a lockpick. Remember there are two types of Lockpicks, the one that vanish if you lose the mission and the one that's collectable, it's expensive but totally worth it.

Good luck Agent. :47_thumb_up: :Tie:

After you get the silenced pistol and the emetic dart guns(take both of them one on the wall one in the tool box items , you will get 3 shots in this way) and lockpick(collector edition) you can do any mission in a breeze.

Take with you even a tool or weapon give you a suitcase, like big smg or assault rifle(you can get this easily by many guards depending on the maps).

The suitcase is really good to attract npc or even neutralize them.

After this remember Freelancer is alot more casual oriented of how much appear.

You can easily kill everyone is a problem for you, there is no real consequences.

Only in showdown you need to pay more attention if there are a sentinel in the area.

But for all the rest kill is the best way to do AI is really poor made and barely react if you shoot using a corner even if they are searching you or in combat state.

It's not really hard, it's just unfair at some points because that's what Hitman is at its core:

You are expected to SA or reload lest you find yourself subject of the combat system and AI, both are very 'sophisticated'. Joke's on us: They can still see through walls hence the reload feature.

Freelancer is very excellent at showing Hitman's shortcomings and makes it even worse because who does not love the same three random spawns? You're in world of hurt if Colorado or Hokkaido are alerted, don't you dare to do showdowns on them ever.

For real Combat system is unfair for AI.

Is so easy to kill them with headshot using corner, which is like a cheat, for how much is poor made the AI.

A bit ridicoulos Developers not fixed a years old bug like see trought wall.

Reload isn't really needed when you can kill everyone without consequences, considered Developers ignored silent assassin.

Freelancer is created for cod/casual players want randomly kill.

A bad addition to hitman series without doubt.

Luckily is a fail so Developers should have learned to not change the gameplay of a game for attract casual players.

Sure, it's mostly unfair for the AI but once it is not, one finds themself quickly at the short end of the stick. If one takes the game 'seriously' and plays hardcore, one can and will be shot down with merely two shots (not just from assassins).

Couple that with telepathic AI, heck even without hardcore, reinforcements and those on your escape route will shoot you because once the fire starts, oh girl, no wildfire compares.

Based on what I could see with a mod which reimplements slow-down on instinct, rather than being removed for being OP or slightly of a bother, they removed it because one could see how the AI takes aim at you before seeing you, mind you, that already happens when they are not in 'combat' i.e when they not know your last location, as also evident by their voice lines ("I see him!").
