Anyway, just for reference, if you did not own any previous Hitman games but wanted everything inside of Hitman 3, this is what it would have cost you:
Old Method (new buyer no previous Hitman games owned):
Game:
Hitman 3: $60
DLC:
HITMAN 3 Access Pass: HITMAN 1 GOTY Edition $35
HITMAN 3 Access Pass: HITMAN 2 Standard ~ $60
HITMAN 3 Access Pass: HITMAN 2 Expansion ~ $40
HITMAN 3 - Seven Deadly Sins Collection ~ $30
HITMAN 3 - Deluxe Pack ~ $30
Total price to own it all: $255
--------------------------------
However, if you had owned Hitman 2 you would have been granted some of that free for previous ownership, it varied based on what modules you owned, but the max you could qualify for was nearly half of that, the cost for an owner of "everything" in Hitman 2 to upgrade full to Hitman 3 and then own all of Hitman 3 would have been:
Game:
Hitman 3: $60
DLC
HITMAN 3 - Seven Deadly Sins Collection ~ $30
HITMAN 3 - Deluxe Pack ~ $30
Total price to own it all: $120
While getting these free: (unless they only had part of Hitman 2, then they might need to pay for some of these)
HITMAN 3 Access Pass: HITMAN 1 GOTY Edition
HITMAN 3 Access Pass: HITMAN 2 Standard
HITMAN 3 Access Pass: HITMAN 2 Expansion
--------------------------------
Neither of those options is possible anymore, the new sales page offers you two bundles you can purchase:
HITMAN World of Assassination (Package) for $70, contains:
Hitman 3 (game)
HITMAN 3 Access Pass: HITMAN 1 GOTY Edition
HITMAN 3 Access Pass: HITMAN 2 Standard
HITMAN World of Assassination Deluxe Pack BUNDLE for $30, contains:
HITMAN 3 Access Pass: HITMAN 2 Expansion
HITMAN 3 - Seven Deadly Sins Collection
HITMAN 3 - Deluxe Pack
Total price to own it all: $100
--------------------------------
So, you no longer need to qualify for anything by owning Hitman 2, it's just $100 for everything now instead of either $120 or $255 previously.
The only thing that's changed is you no longer have the $60 option of the game by itself, and instead you pay $70 but get $95 worth of DLC included and the deluxe bundle is $30 instead of $100 if you had bought them individually at the previous prices.
Overall it's a lower price, assuming you were going to buy everything.
Of course, there's no reason to pay full price anyway when the game goes on sale several times a year regardless.
I paid hitman 1 60€ (when every zone was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dlc) i paid hitman 2 60€
It means i paid 120€ for 2/3rd of the "hitman world of assassination" bundle. I see now reason why I should not have an option to buy hitman 3 and dlc's for 1/3rd of the price of the pack "world of assassination"
Because in the current iteration, If i would buy "world of assassination", I basically waste 2/3rd of my purchase.
The fact it's now $70 is meaningless, my answer is the same: wait for a sale, pay less than 60. In the end once you move to buying the deluxe bundle (two of the pieces you wouldn't have gotten for free) you'll still be paying less than before in total.
Complain all you want, but my answer is wait for a sale and buy both bundles at half off or more and you'll be paying far less than you would have for just the game by itself at 60 (the old price) or for the everything (which used to be 120 for you or 255 for new buyers, which is now 100 for everyone, including you)
does anything at all carry over into 3 or is it start all missions again?
someone teabagged customers right and bought whole lot? now refusing to treat people right? maybe from fractures where ip issues on content.
im going to be buying this third time round on a sale. even though i know devs have probably worked hard, still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
was a very underhanded way to do things. from the start. glacier still havent imo got to the point others did. still no 3d right? you can tell thay struggle when you try and take people out on stairs. their engine people are going unreal route instead of making their own path imo.
