Anyone know how to get a hold of El Matador in freelance?

It's not in the safe in columbia, but that's expected. I just haven't seen it come up for sale from the vendors yet, but I get the feeling it is only offering me the same junk now and I MUST buy the crap I don't want for it to offer me the rest. Or, it could be a thing they reward you with at some point.

Anyone know for sure?

It's not anywhere. You need to buy it from the supplier or get it as a reward.

I suspected that much. It seems the game doesn't cycle the suppliers inventory the way one might expect. I have bought what interests me and now they only offer me junk like common shotguns and lesser pistols.

This sort of suggests the game is wanting me to buy all the lesser pistols until only el matador and above remain in that tier. Guess it gives me something to blow money on.

I think its just cause El Matador is legendary tier, so if you have common / rare items you haven't bought yet they will be much more likely to appear instead

Yeah, supplier doesn't offer things you already have, and tends to offer the common stuff 1st, unless you're lucky.

It's Epic but your point still stands. My advice is to just buy the junk. That way you are reducing the pool of items.

buying the junk makes it more likely that you will get more expensive stuff as a syndicate reward too, or just a 10k merce reward from them instead of junk

Yup. Pool reduction seems to be what it wants. Man that sucks because of how much stuff is in there that takes up space and I have no interest in getting it. $40k for a dart gun huh? Those come up all the time but I always have them in the tool box. Way it goes, I suppose.

The tool box version of the dart guns vs the wall collection are both lost in different ways. Tools are cleared every time you fail a campaign, wall is only lost if you are wounded while carrying it.

On top of that, owning both lets you carry both, so double the darts.

The collector's dart gun, the 40k one, is one that goes on the walls, not in the freelancer toolboxes, which cost about 15k or so.

The Collector's Tools are primarily for when one loses a campaign and alls tool as a result, as well as presenting a money sink I suppose. The mode needs a lot of polish and this is certainly one thing that does not really make fun.

One can farm NY for ten thousand but one can't be rewarded for knowing how to get the Matador. Instead one is made a fool more often than not because they were so benign to leave a Katana, several Tanto and a weird knife in the maps.

I've yet to see a Katana left on the maps in freelancer, they all seem to be replaced by tanto. There are several knives though, including legendaries.

That one weird knife I know of is a Legendary and hidden in a NY safebox. The others I care so little about that I did not seek for them, like using crowbars on Sgail when I have yet to have a target on those floors.

In regards to the Katana, indeed many on Hokkaido have been replaced but:
Isle of Sgail, 'Museum' or whatever it is called.
Ironically, the Tanto is better than the Katana because it is not bulky and yet works for the Katana Kill Objective.

All I really need is an Epic+ Non-Lethal melee weapon since I happened to come across such an objective.

To the extent that if you spawn in the ninja location in Hokkaido, it is a Tanto and not a Katana stuck in the ground.

El Matador cost as much as the golden sawed-off(get it by picking gold bars as the bankrobber) or even more, was it 20-24k? Burial and Antique daggers found in the bank boxes. Don't need gear for it either, jump the ledge at the stairs to the basement on the right from base floor, server room for fuse to get card, chloroform in vents and you have robbed the bank easy mode.

Just rob the bank, seem almost intended to be gimmicky, record payout from the vault server thing is 9k Mercs, usually 4k. This way you can buy the stuffs by the first three missions.
