how the ♥♥♥♥ we meant to get 100 mastery in freelancer?!?
I've only gotten up to mastery 32 and it's such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grind, like I'm only making 3k xp per mission except showdowns.
Should I just be bum rushing missions and forgetting the merces missions? I just feel like I'm missing something and I know I've seen peoples screenshots and ♥♥♥♥ on reddit and they're getting like 20k xp on final showdowns, I got 8! what gives!

It's an endless rogue-lite. You aren't expected to be done quickly. This isn't the main game, you have the campaigns, escalations, bonus missions, 1000's of contracts etc.

Freelancer? Is just something to kill time with random missions for months/years if you haven't already burned out on the game.

You can't even finish all the challenges without doing a minimum of 1830 missions (and it will take you longer if you fail any)

So, your question: how to get to mastery 100? Play for a year, or don't, it's not like this mode is required and there is no end for you to be working towards.

You get almost no xp for just doing the bare minimum. You get way more xp for the "mercer" objectives. I don't know about 20k but prestige objectives are typically 2500 or more. Other objectives are 1500 or more mercers. And each objective passed gives 1000 xp or more.

Of course, at level 31 you should know all this, right?

Slowly and steadily.

The whole gamemode is intended to give content for the long run. Whats the point of a race if you just start at the finish line?

That seems like a good reason

yea it is pretty grindy, i just hope they come out with more rewards in the future then just, a potted plant for my bed room... some stuff has been nice, free melee weapons that constantly spawn, but for all the grind there are only 2 outfits to unlock? and the ornamental weapons you get you lose if you die with them in mission so its gone forever :D good bye ornamental pistol ill never get back

What level are you and how much money do you have? You can buy the ornamental weapons back...

I get that but when rewards vary it's really not a good incentive to only earn a few new pot plants or some other cosmetic crap after doing 3/4 of a campaign, the outfits/guns I get grinding for but at the rate I'm going I won't even be able to fully decorate my office for another 50hrs, it's ludicrous.

There's gotta be another way to level up faster, does hardcore give more xp? I've not tried it.

doesnt matter, its stupid to be able to lose your rewards from the mastery levels

Developersa was alot confused when created this gamemode.

Seems they can't decide between go for the gamemode they advertised, a rogue like gamemode, where is normal you lose everything, even if you win or die.

Or a rogue lite gamemode where you can keep various things even if you win or die.

In Freelancer there are things you lose if you die, even if they are in your house.

There are things in your house you will not lose even if you die, but you can lose them if you carry them in mission you lose.

Developers mixed up rogue lite and rogue like systems with no clear direction, with things don't have any sense for a rogue lite gamemode(losing things in your house) and things instead are a good way to keep rogue like elements but making them not too hard on casuals.

But it's almost like the one confused is you. Now I'm confused.

Not really, but i can understand you are confused.

People like you and Developers not knowing how rogue like and rogue lite gamemode work is normal to be confused.

But Developers should fix this things, considered how they are false advertising this gamemode.

They should make it so you like it, not how they like it. How could they?
