FPS drops after loading save game
I just got into this game and playing HM1 in the HM3 game. And I have been dropping FPS majorly when ever you load within a game too often. And the after even more loads from the menu, that bugs too until you restart game. Is this a new bug that was just introduced? It needs to be patched.

Worth a try, I'll give feedback when I have time to test it

I did a complete Nvidia driver uninstall and then a clean install and it has improved the VRAM leak and loading, but it has not fixed it. I just went from VRAM full with major FPS drop after 4-5 loads to same issue but after 10ish loads instead. So it is a temporarily quality of life improvement but not a solution.

Looking forward to hearing from your experiences (and anyone else who reads this) after a clean driver install. Oregano, I assume situation is same for you, more loads before VRAM full but no permanent fix to the leak?

Sending bug report is useless. I did so right after update with detailed explanation of issue with VRAM, providing links steam discussion and reddit posts. Yesterday IOI finally responded with generic useless answer and advised to reinstall game.

NVIDIA disabled Resizable BAR for Hitman 3 in the latest driver (released today), might be what was causing the issue.

They seems to give the same template answer to everyone with technical issues without ever looking into the actual issues explained.

Same boat as you, thats why I said the frequence of the stutters diminished but didn't stop completely. At least now the game is in a more playable state for me, but I'm wondering if I still should send IOI those two files they asked, I mean, not much else we can do at this point.

I'd humour them, ive sent them myself, its literally just a system specs sheet so they can see your driver versions, hardware config and OS etc, least then you've done all you can on your side.

Idk whats gone on but this is the worst state ive seen a hitman game be in and its supposed to be 'complete' at this point too

Update: heard back from support after sending these files, the person i spoke to claimed it MUST be windows 11 causing this issue. Bullshart. very close to saying ♥♥♥♥ IOI at this point and asking for a refund.

Let's just hope this is an automated and/or temp response they just send by standard and they are indeed looking into it. It might not necessary mean they are not taking it seriously.

Has the new driver helped in your experience?

Last nights drivers (528.49) fix the issue for me

CORRECTION: It fixes it for me on some maps but not others. So odd.

The DLSS setting is bugged and causing additional VRAM consumption when you reload a mission or alt-tab from the game. I informed IOI support so hopefully they can fix it soon.

In the mean time disable DLSS or use FSR2 instead.

Hi! I could literally "feel" Hitman dying when tabbing out (it was not pretty, and tabbing back in resulted in big fps loss)

I dug through the H3 tech support discord, and am bringing you this pinned treat, which fixed the tabbing / loading issue for me.

The "Shadercache fix" for PC
This fix can help if your game doesn't launch at all, instantly crashes or suffers from other issues like performance loss or visual bugs.
In practice it also fixes random issues, ranging from small to large. So it's advised to try this troubleshooting method even if your issue isn't explicitly mentioned.

The Shadercache consists of two files that are automatically generated by the game, PipelineCache.bin and PipelineLibrary.bin
The above issues are caused when they get corrupted, so you'll have to delete them. Since the game automatically regenerates them, you don't need to back them up.

Instructions
Navigate to %localappdata%/IO Interactive/HITMAN3
There are two ways to do that:
- Press Windows key + R and insert the above text
- Open File Explorer and insert the above text in the address bar
Delete the files in the folder, PipelineCache and PipelineLibrary.
(Verify Hitman 3's game files on the platform you own it on (Epic, Steam, Microsoft Store)).

I can now alt-tab / load the game without FPS loss again, I hope it can help you too! :o

I did all that and it did not work, after X amount of reloads it will chug. It takes more to achieve this though, but not sure if it was due to your post or me doing a clean driver install a few days ago.

Sorry to hear that, what a pain.

I'm glad it got a bit better for you though! I'm still very looking forward to the first post-Freelancer patch.
I hope the wait is worth it - assuming IoI even manages to recognize the issue in time.

Read my post above, DLSS is causing it. Disable it or use FSR2.

Yeah I think this is the main reason, makes sense too since it coincides with the DLSS 3 update. I just love DLSS too much to not turn it off, not a fan of TAA and between my fast NVME and a mod that lets you skip the intro, I prefer just restarting the game every 10ish reloads and keeping DLSS vs using TAA. I was hoping there was another way.

Thanks.

Found this discussion cuz I'm having the same issue. Came back to the game yesterday only to discover major FPS drops. I see it's been up for months now which isn't very optimistic...
