Collateral kill accident not working
I'm on Haven Island and I have an objective to Kill the target with burning accident and one for collateral kill accident. So I spill the oil and when both the target and her follower are standing on the oil spill at the same time I shoot the oil. I get the objective for the burning accident kill but the collateral kill ends up with an 'X' on it and doesn't give it to me. Is there something I'm not getting with this setup or is it bugged as well?

shooting the oil may disqualify it for "accident" i believe. It would have to be a tossed cig to light it in that case.

Collateral has to b done with penetrating bullets, doesn't it? I'm pretty sure it specifies it.

Well I definitely can't use bullets as it's supposed to be an accident so I don't understand why it would count as an accident for the target but not the other person. I did one just like this a few missions ago except the only thing different was explosion kill instead of burning. I shot a propane flask to kill both and it worked no problem. If it's an accident for one it should be an accident for both. Which leads me to believe this is not intended and is a bug.

I mean they are literally both standing on the oil and die at the exact same time in the exact same way as an accident kill. This should count 100% imo.

You are definitely right, I was thinking about something else. Interesting.
I agree with you then!

I wanted to test something... So how I did it before was use the Sieker on her and run to the bathroom where she gets sick and pour the oil in front of the toilet. The guy follows right behind her and stands on the puddle while she is throwing up. I had to wait for her to finish being sick so she starts walking back over the oil where he is standing since she isn't quite on it while being sick. Then shoot it while they are both on it.

This time I bumped him a few times to keep a distance then knocked him out a little further back and knocked her out while she is at the toilet then dragged both bodies over the puddle and shot it and it worked.

I tried my original way multiple times without success, My hunch is they both counted as accident and the fail part is on "Collateral". I don't know if for some reason it's not registering while he is conscious, so I guess for now if you have collateral with burning, just make sure to subdue them. I also don't know if it's only with oil canister and maybe oil barrels work properly. I'll test that when I get an opportunity.

Good stuff, I'll try to do some testing when i get the opportunity too. Let me know how it goes!

maybe it doesnt count as at the same time, the burn damage tics killing them at slightly different moments maybe. The one time I did it, it was on the columbia map, i knocked everyone out in the submarine cave and dragged an unconcious target and one of the other people in front of the sub and dropped it on them, lol. I thought shooting something made it not count as an accident but I guess i am incorrect on that, the timing of the death being slightly off is the only other thing i can think of, but I feel like that is a bit unfair if that is the case, in situations like yours.

I tried with an electrocution in a puddle and didn't get it. I didn't see what it said but I noticed the yellow condition information changed for a moment during the accident. If anybody is more alert next time or is recoding, it would be great to know what it said.
