Also when I ALT-tab out of the game and back in the game my V-Ram goes over the red ingame and FPS drops to 5-10. But I don't hear the card struggling in any way and when I am on my desktop (alt-tabbed out) everything works including browsing internet and watching twitch streams or youtube videos without any hiccups there.
Task manager also shows jumps to 100% GPU for Hwoa. Def has to be a memory leak here. Game restart fixes it, but also fails the mission :(
I had the same issue, sometimes the game would just start dip from triple- into single-digit fps numbers when loading in new areas, reloading a save did not help either.
It turned out my GeForce Experience could not automatically update my drivers (still had drivers from September last year for some reason), and after manually installing the most recent ones, the fps-massacre went away. Hope this helps ~
I see, but I have yet to encounter any issues after updating my drivers. (and I had a looooong play session when freelancer came out - maybe it is just something different.)
The fact you cleanly reinstalled your drivers is very good to know, and probably follows the vein of this earlier reply, now that I read it.
I'm clueless then, the only other thing i changed in the option was turning the sunshadow-raytracing off, because it was enabled by default for some reason.
Maybe that will help your cause... best of luck on your journey to get it running smoothly again, though. c:
Doesn't seem to be tied to maps though I did experience it on the newest level "Ambrose" so maybe not.
Thanks for your helping, raytracing is off at my presets, cause performance on a 2070S would be not great.
Problem is producible at each level. Start a game, walk a little bit, save and load. Every load the vram increases 150-250mb and stay at the session. Next load again and again till the vram is full and over the border and the fps drops to 30-40 fps. You can it also producible to get on desktop and in the game, same here every klick around 150-250mb more vram.
- newest driver 528.24
- delete pipelinecache and pipelinelibrary
- checking the game for any failure over steam
- change settings (Edit: solution next Page)
i hope it comes timely a update for the game, i dont konw what else should I test
Edit: solution for me look next Page
As a work around: You can alt+f4 out of freelance missions and not be penalized should the problem happen. Unfortunately you lose your progress in the mission obviously. Try not to save scum ;)
