Yeah well that's because it's one of the worst shoehorned VR implemented mode i've ever come across. It's a shame since the concept sounds like so much fun. They just didn't invest enough time and money to ensure it worked correctly and I doubt they ever will.
I know it's awful with the motion controls but it could at least be fun if I could use my HMD to just look around in first person
True, I get where your coming from. It is surprising they didn't give an option in the settings to change controls considering they had it for the PS4 version. Maybe someone in the modding community made it work?
There must be something out there to allow it since I couldn't imagine it being that difficult. If they can mod Half Life Alyx to be an non vr game with controller support then they can most definitely mod Hitman to use alternate controls. It just depends if the demand is high enough.
Ah yeah that's a good point, I didn't even think of that. Damn that's a shame then. If it can't be modded then it's pretty much at lost cause since I doubt IO are going to come back to patch and fix up a mode that hardly anyone uses.
It's these half baked last minute VR modes that risk turning away new users to VR since these titles grab their attention in the first place over indie games due to marketing and AAA name recognition alone.
Wish they just put a little more effort in since it runs the risk of damaging the already small market share of VR users as it is especially if this is someone's first introduction to VR.
