RTX ON-FPS OFF
My 3080 is choking why you do this IO i went from 150fps to 30 at 1440p and i don't even see that much difference in the reflections

no scaling is always at 1.0.

This RT implementation seems to obliterate frames.

Even in CP2077 I get better FPS with Ultra settings and DLSS quality w/ RT.
Yeah if you got that setting set to 1.00 and still having frame dips I agree the rtx implementation may be a bit unoptimized. Hopefully enough people will mention this and the devs try to optimize it however it's disappointing that we might need to wait a bit for that to happen

Wow, I just ran the benchmark for Dubai with a 3080TI at 4k Ultra with RT reflections and shadows on, DLSS quality and only getting 30 FPS lol.

On a 2080Ti I ran 1440p w/ DLSS Quality, max settings w/ RT on, and I could probably play the game with a locked 30fps but I don't hate myself enough to do that. DLSS also seems weirdly not that beneficial to performance, maybe.

Do you have the setting "resolution scale" set to 2.00? If so lower it in order to gain fps (DLSS must be disabled in order for you to alter this setting). It worked for me running on a rtx 3070 ti though missions like Mumbai have dips

I don't think many people will be making this mistake. Resolution scale is obviously a performance-heavy option. RT is just genuinely extremely demanding in this game. It cut my FPS to 1/3~1/4 of normal.

Yeah I had made that mistake lol. Luckily i quickly lowered that setting. Also do you think that the rtx performance could be improved through patching the game?

Idk man I'm the wrong person to ask lol I wouldn't expect it though. This is a game with a lot of reflective surfaces. I'd probably just expect to not use it on current GPUs and maybe in the future with new hardware you'll be able to turn it on. Honestly, the default system for reflections does a good enough job

If you can use it though DLSS is good and can maybe help you get higher resolution, maybe even use DL DSR in combination to get 4K down to a 1440p screen or something like that. That's a better IQ improvement at much less performance cost than RT.

2070 (non-super), avg 65 fps on Dubai bencmark. Pretty much as I expected given my experience with other ray tracing titles. Hell, even slightly above my expectations. So yeah, I'd say remember to update you GPU drivers and adjust your settings accordingly (like IO already pointed out in their pre-patch announcement). Nothing comes for free in this world. If you want something you have to give something.
Penemue 24 mai. 2022 às 8:19
Yeah, update drivers, try medium reflection quality and lower other ultra settings to high

rt has a serious performance impact? what a shocking revelation

also, it's "rt on", "rtx on" is just the nvidia ad

I am afraid I have to correct your correction sir. It actually is "RTX on". RTX stands for Ray Traced Xenophobes which... Well... Everyone who's against Russia is a xenophobe these days. Since this game is shining the ray traced goodliness on many different people of many different countries, this game is indeed ray tracing all the xenophobes.

I hope that clears things up. If it doesn't, I'll be happy to not comment on any further questions.

RTX 2060 here, 40-60fps on average on highest settings and dips to 8 fps and stays there during the darthmoor benchmark, tried various settings, it all dips down to 8 fps regardless. There seems to be an issue with the current implementation. This on 1920x1080

EDIT; Reinstalled my drivers with DDU to the newest versions. 35FPS average on Darthmoor on highest settings. RTX 2060, 9700k, 32GB, M2 SSD. Pretty much what I expected, thumbs up from me.

The reflections cause a brutal fps hit, the shadows don't cause much at all.

DLSS is the best addition. Now I'm playing at DLDSR 4K with balanced DLSS and the game looks better than it ever has.

Anyone running full ray tracing on a 3080 ti? What is your fps?

This configuration could not ensure a smooth run of the built-in Dubai benchmark even at 1440p resolution on Ultra settings. Moreover, even with DLSS enabled in performance mode, there were regular drops below 50fps. DSOG emphasizes that Hitman 3 with Ray Tracing turned on is much worse than Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition, and even weaker than Cyberpunk 2077.

Given the huge performance hit that these RT reflections bring (and their visual issues), we really don’t see the point of enabling them. Yes, you are getting a bit more realistic reflections. However, most of you won’t be able to tell the difference (unless you compare them). In our opinion, the best way to play Hitman 3 right now is by enabling DLSS Quality and running it in 4K/Ultra with RT Sun Shadows. Our RTX3080 was able to push constant 75fps with these settings, and we highly recommend playing it this way!

is the performance in the demo not what to expect in the full version?

I don't trust demos like that. It fails to answer simple things such as what rig it was taken on.

Just re posting from another topic. It just seems that the ray-tracing seems to be very experimental. Need a LOD for the ray-tracing. Everything is reflections from big windows to wine glasses. IOI needs to turn off reflections when the player is not around. Just a big performance drain.
