Ok, thx 4 the advise. But then I have to start new game because I have to do the defend mission against the order now.. otherwise the game is lost and with my 5 group built at the moment this isn´t possible. Tried it 5 times with different setups and weapons...
So let´s start new... :)
The Alchemist should be the Aoe / Healer in the party. Then take a crusader with you, who can take alot of damge, heal himself and has also AoE damage (Greatsword wielder)!
The last position I mostly take a guy with a mace / hammer, to knock down the armor of the enemies.....but another ranged with AoE items should also be fine.
And take as much consumables with you as you can. Healing stuff and also grenades do fine jobs....
exactly, what's the point of presenting the player with a wide variety of classes if the actual gameplay more or less forces you to use just a few of them? In the gameplay context it becomes a rational decision to focus on the few best performers and ignore the rest. Poor design.
Yep-yep-yep. Spot on, and the real issue here.
The game has a solid core, but some design decisions are really hampering the game. Which is a shame as i want it to do well.
Difficulty is all over the place, and I feel it wasn't tested. I've played many well known turn based tactics game on hard, and while i'm not amazing at them, they still felt fair but challenging. Like I could try different things and still had options to win.
With Crown Wars you are forced to take certain units and skills or you won't progress, with the added annoyance of timers... where timers don't make sense. Like they were added just to pad the difficulty.

Only one Wounded guy.
Game isn’t that hard.
But how do you manage this? I agree that it is possible until chapter 3 is done... But at this point the Order gets so strong - even normal missions get so hard, have so many enemies and on hard they even have more TP... How do you manage this with a group of 7 soldiers for example?
I wanna have a proff, whre you end a defend mission with all guys alive! These missions are absurdely imbalanced. 10 turns to defend an area - sounds easy. But the game throws an enemy group at you EVERY round! And due to the high movement range, they reach you one turn after appearing, so you foght a force of 10-15 guys at once.
I play on knight, Im in ch3 and have cleared some defense missions at basically full health, also recruiting new units is really cheap if you just want to recruit an extra character to take hits for a mission while some of your main team is healing.
Sorry that you´re a pro ! But difficulty is out of control! A mission, where you start with 4 or 5 members (depending on your progress) and have to fight 4 or more squads of 4-6 guys, where a squad arrives every turn., Cmon man,.,,
Are you up to date with upgrades? I did it with a Refined/Superb equipment group of 6. Bring a Hammer and some weapons which reduce armor. Be sure to taunt him and position your other companions out of range of his aoe attacks.
I didn’t do any one this mission for now. There are either too far or not good rewarded.
