Eiyuden Chronicles is popular so they got a lot of support.
The support was so good, they announced a companion game late into the campaign.
If people wanted the game, they'd have to add $7 to their original pledge.
Problem 1 was) Some people supported and ignored the campaign instead of checking it constantly. Which to me is normal. They are fine, but upset by the missed opportunity.
Problem 2 is) People did do the additional money and still have not received keys to their game. They also already knew there was a problem because the surveys for platform choice did not go smoothly.
They are being directed to Discord and Discord is directing them to Yetee. Yetee is sending out canned responses and there are still a lot of people without keys.
They seem to blame the people and not themselves. They keep telling people to check their spam folder like they are children. People know to check their spam folders.
I had to reach out to Yetee to even get my survey. And the first time it was a canned response. I had to reach out again to get it. Now I'm having to reach out to them to get the key.
And now I've had to send another form to get my code.
This is like if you gave your friend money to order some pizza and he turned around and tried selling the pizza to you after it arrived.
Rising isn't the game that was kickstarted, that's Hundred Heroes. Rising is the companion game.
Normally when you pay for something extra as a backer, it's done ahead of time. That way, the people who want say, stickers or posters or whatever, pay for it themselves and people who don't want those extras aren't wasting their money on something they won't get.
But in this case the companion game was just a stretch goal all the backers were paying into. Doesn't make sense.
When the final stretch goal was announced on the kickstarter it stated:
Now the hard part:
While this is a separate title and not really DLC, we want to give this to our backers as bonus content for all the support they’ve given us. However, there is a rub—Console platform holders will charge us 30% of the base price of the game to purchase DL codes so that we can give you the game for free. That means we’d be out a HUGE amount of money if we didn’t charge something to at least cover that cost.
Based on the content of the game, we are expecting whatever publisher we end up working with to charge around 15-20 dollars for this title. 30% of that would be between 5-7 dollars. It’s a cost we can't do anything about, so we are asking backers to up their pledge by 7 dollars if you want this companion title.
-------------------------------
No where did they ever state backers would get this for free. So in essence the stretch goal was for them to work with another company and getting a companion game started. That was all.
This is a topic about those of us that DID put in the additional money for the companion game and still haven't received a code.
What i said was just a reponse to someone elses post. While yes off topic. Wasnt about people missing codes.
Now sure, i agree it sucks. I dont agree that saying you shouldnt support a company just because of what happen, its a bit extreme. They are probably dealing with what turned out to be a bigger issue then what they original thought. People just arent giving them the time needed to fix the issue. Its literally day one of the issue.
People paid for something, give it to them. The companion game. I did pay for the companion game. I did complete the first survey. I did complete the survey of platform choice AFTER they figured that out. And I want the code.
And yes, ripping off your backers is reason to not support the game.
Did you make sure to confirm your "purchase" when you were filling out the backer survey? It wasn't just a matter of selecting a platform from the dropdown on the first page, you needed to go through what looked like a payment process but charged you $0. If you did it correctly you should have got an order confirmation email from Yetee.
If you've got that order confirmation but no code, have you tried contacting Yetee via the email address in the order confirmation or their webform[theyetee.com]?
Lots of other people got their keys just fine so why not try solving your problem with Yetee directly instead of trying to rile people up here?
