DLC's - Speculations and Wishes
As I'm about to finish Eiyuden Chronicle, I was wondering about underexploited parts in the game. Before the final battle, a month goes by and it seems like Seign and Marisa have been active during that time. It beggs the question if the devs are not considering to fill in those plot hyatusses right inbetween those idle times in the storyline.

Personally, I would love to see the Runebarrows and the Guardians thread developed, as it has an aura of mastery around it that has had nearly no application in the game. Heck, even after liberating Yanaan from the zombie Apocalypse , there is 0 feedback on your deeds. It feels lackluster, to say the least. Unless,... there's bound to be more in an upcoming DLC.

Eiyuden Chronicle: hundred heroes build up a lot of mysteries and premises, that were left nearly blank in the main game. So what about those lenses and their ability to empower or to warp the ones they affect. The Suikoden games build up the lore of the runes and the true runes (as well as the Sindaar). But all in all, it took 5-7 games to give just enough material to speculate on it. Often the plausible answers didn't even come from the game's lore, but from piecing together real-world mythology and folklore.

From a gameplay perspective, there were nearly not enough strategic battles. Once you play the minigame, with the trainer, you'll notice that they're actually pretty good. Although, I understand they didn't want to overburden casual players, they are far too rare and unimpactful during the main game. A DLC might offer a suit of five-ten additional optional maps.

Storywise, as was hinted during early access, there might be some sidequests/sidecampaigns around some major characters from your roster. They even made a poll. The world of EC has a lot of potential and the characters are interesting. So let's wait and see.

What are your ideas on the matter and how do you expect things to turn out?

Do you want me to ruin this? or DO you want to find out on your own?

I will say this w/o ruining DLCs. The way Murayama told his stories over regions/world-building. He built the world as he went, with some slight plan out for future games. He explained he did the same thing here. He would leave area open to explore later one. or character with almost a blank slate to expand upon later

If you ever played Suikoden Series Georg Prime would be an example of this. When you meet him for the first time in S2. you didn't know much about him, other than wanderer of the lands, powerful. You really didnt know where he came from or what he been doing. He does mention lands in the southwest. That's all you know.

When 5 comes out, you have a very detailed rich story. You find out why he roams the lands and what he did even before Suikoden 1

That how Murayama told his world. he did this even with regions and countries, Even for the Sindar. which Get told in greater detail from 2 all the way to 5.

Now I will say Murayama didn't have much effect on S4-5. but you know they had his notes lol.

Also note he did leave enough world-building to R&B to build 2 more sequels to this game

What was the Jester for? trolling?
Know as a backer they gave details on what the side stories would be

ALL DLC will be 40 hours long in total

Seign DLC: going to be about how he save the late emperor's son from aldric clutch before the final battle, since it happened offscreen in the main story and was only told by Goldwyn

Marisa DLC: basically how she met Leene 1st time and befriended her with Nil and Wayve

Markus DLC: The backstory talks about a 'holy maiden' that wrecked his first settlement before Hargatha castle, so prob sth concerning her? Not to mention the dlc includes Carrie and she did mention that someone already made a teleportation mark on Hargatha Castle's menhir. And considering Carrie is light-based.... time/space

4th DLC is just paints and Skins for HQ

Alright, then. Thank you for the detailed reply. Looking forward to how they will bring it over. There's a lot of potential to tell three good stories.

Hell, who knows, one day Konami will sell the rights to Suikoden and we'll be able to get the missing plot points of those games.
