you put out the same dish and get lower scores WTF
https://www.reddit.com/r/EiyudenChronicle/comments/1cmbmis/cookoff_calculator/
Using that calculator I have managed to beat every opponent on the first try.
In Suikoden II if one judge liked vegetables and one judge liked spicy food, you could make a vegetable recipe and add Red Pepper to make it spicy and impress both judges.
This game, chocolate cake is chocolate cake is chocolate cake and you better hope you get judges that like the same thing cause it's all RNG. You have no real control to combat bad RNG.
It's such a bad system.
Anyway, I find that even after the supposed bug fix patch I am still ever to win even the robo chef (but close) with a decent chance using the following combo :
Appetizer - Omelette
Main - Copy your opponent dish
Dessert - Coconut Water
Yeah, and removed the item dup glitch too
Also, during that time, none of you guys asking them to keep the bug because you want the easy win in cooking game. How could they know some people would disagree with them fixing it if none of you say anything? By mind reading?
But tbh, even if you guys say anything, the bug would get fixed sooner or later, especially when multiple people have been asking to get it fix. Its a bug after all, not a feature.
the mini game its self being easy to cheese was a GOOD thing
However, from what I gather, the underlying problem of the minigame, is now amplified. It's basically RNG with no realistc way to counter it.
The minigame needed more than just a bug fix, it needed the addition of a control variable by the player to counter RNG.
For example, they could have allowed both you and the opponent to choose at least 1 of the judges (2 would be even better). The opponents would pick the judges that favor their dishes, and you could counter it by picking judges that hate those dishes and instead prefer the ones you prepare.
For anyone who wants to "revert" the fix to an easy solution they looked up in the first place; there's been a calculator for figuring out the winning dish, why not just use that?
Well for one, not every person is like you who likes everything to be easy and 2nd and quite the serious question, what is even remotely hard in this game?
