- The encounter rate is pretty high in the early game until you can buy Monster Repel Charms at your upgraded castle, -50% and can be stacked for -100%.
- Lv. I ~ III spells deal FIXED magic damage with awful methods to replenish MP (no level up fill-up, eventually you can only buy the cheapest MP recovery potion), and the SP system prevents you from spamming your physical skills, so you're forced into using normal attacks while conserving your items/MP to heal. It's halfway through the game when you get Lv. IV ~ VI damage spells that actually scale off MGC.
- This game enters commands at the start of the turn like the Dragon Quest and Pokemon series. This means the player is at an disadvantage because they have to predict outcomes, while the AI chooses commands when their turn arrives for optimal healing/attacking, so even for boss fights, you may want auto on. This also allows the enemy to cheat because they can kill recently revived units, so you have to be first or dead last in turn order when doing so.
- Given all of the above, early/late bloomer stat growth rates before/after Lv. 40, and linear damage calculations, this creates a huge character inbalance where squishy mages are terrible besides 3 of them (Falward, Isha, Momo) and bulkier melee shine throughout the entire game (like your starting party of Nowa, Garr, Iugo, Yusuke, Kuroto, Kogen).
Manually inputting 6 normal attacks for each random encounter will probably get old.For you this auto battle, get old (boring) ?
