I would say Suikoden is better, and it's 2 games rather than one.
I don't like some of the AI upscaling/art replacement stuff they've done to the Suikoden remasters but they are still classic games.

I have to admit i am so torn. This is indeed a very good classic. But on the other hand i could spend that same money on a new good game like Expedition 33.

Both honestly
But probably Suikoden to show Konami that there is a demand
If it has to be one or the other, I vote for Suikoden. Unless something goes horrifically wrong with the release.
Wait a couple of days after Suikoden is released before deciding. If Konami made a major screw-up, you'll hear about it.

The preorder bonus item is very good though. Especially if you like using a lot of the 108 heroes. If i remember correctly unused heroes do not get xp so if we use them again they will be lower level. And the xp orb will be a great help in letting them catch up quickly.

The games are already easy without any kind of preorder bonus. And the games already have a catch up mechanic for XP.

eclipse's suggestion is pretty solid.

Wait to see if Suikoden bundle is a mess. If not a mess, clearly it's the better choice if you have to choose one.

If you enjoy the Suikoden bundle and want an inferior continuation... get this.

Eiyuden is better. Ignore the pedantic localization mob and the 'good ol days' nostalgia marks. This is coming from an older guy who played 4 out of 5 suikodens and already ordered the Suikoden remasters.

Eiyuden has a deeper cast with way less fillers, better castle building and more mini games that are fun excluding the shark race of course. Boss fights are way more immersive than the easy street pretenders of the Suikoden series lets be real.

O.o the shark race is not bad. I don't get why people dislike it so much.

Look out guys we got an expert here. He's played 4 whole games! Such an expert he thinks there's only 5 Suikodens.

It's hard to say. I was a 100% believer in Rabbit & Bear and thought them more trustworthy than Konami until the localization was butchered and not so much of an acknowledgement much less fix. I'm actually worried Suikoden's localization too in this environment.

But my best guess would still be to buy both... as those are the most likely pathways to more of this type of game. And hopefully mods can fix the shortcomings in time, though volunteer efforts on that scale take time. Or maybe some genius third party will come out of nowhere and make an even better spiritual successor (like Chained Echoes from Xenogears)

The analog stick is hard to control. Using the D-Pad is painful since I have wrist issues. Plus I'm terrible at racing games.

Yea. I think I will buy the suikoden hd remaster first. I have been looking over all the characters here and suikoden. And suikoden characters seems more interesting. This game though obviously have the advantage of better animations and visuals. But in terms of characters the ones on the older games seems more alive while this one seems more generic.
