Blatant ripoff of Square Enix's HD-2D/ Octopath Traveler

Screw this ♥♥♥♥. Looks like this game has been in development since the release of Octopath Traveler when it took them 2 seconds to immediately start a direct imitation of the graphic style/effects.

lol, this is 100% clear intent. the development of this game began immediately after Octopath and is a direct imitation of a first of its kind style of graphics so unique that Square Enix went to the lengths of trademarking the term HD-2D.

I get what you're saying.. games copy games, that's the way it goes. but this is pathetic and they went with Microsoft so it goes to show how spineless they are.

I loved Suikoden too man, but I don't respect these guys anymore.

Suikoden would like a word. the graphic style is Suikoden and every other 2D Jrpg made in the early 90s early 00s.

if you want to say someone stole its Octopath Traveler.

2D is not something you can own. I can believe Octopath made them brave enough to make the game they wanted to make. but everything else you said is stupid.

Wrong. Sonic was original. It invented so many design elements that have been imitated, as did Mario. Some people want original ideas, not cheap knock-offs.
There's a clear distinction between sharing the same genre and being shamelessly derivative. The fact that you can't tell the difference tells us everything.

you can tell they just loaded up Unreal Engine and tried to clone everything Square Enix did to achieve the same look as Octopath. It's pathetic. As soon as they saw Octopath they started cloning.
