Yes, because using the term chud makes sense in a Japanese based video game in terms of localization. At least be honest with someone asking questions about the scripts integrity. Do the right thing.

I mean I'm pretty neutral about a lot of this stuff, but modern slang has no place in a translation in a fantasy setting (unless it's *purely* farcical). That doesn't mean you need to countersteer into shakespearean english, but words like "chud" and "sus" absolutely do not belong in this kind of translation.

I'd say probably skip any neologisms from the past century. The problem isn't slurs, it's anachronisms.

Really wanna go there. I am being honest you few peeps are making something out of nothing. Also I'm not the one not being honest. Prime example is in a lot of other threads throw out miss quotes that come from other games, to make this game look bad or your opinions matter. Ie the "he is a he. he white, until he is asian" is not even in the game and that running around in the threads, to give this a bad rep. I'm not saying you said it. Just example. Also some of yall trying to acting like this is woke when it's not and its ridiculous. Throwing around DEI into conversations ect ect. I remeber not to long ago some peeps tried to act like this was connected to SBI when they had nothing to do with it. Be honest haha. Both side of the issue is contrived. The localization is fine. Is it perfect no. But its fine

okay now THAT I can get behind but most people here seem to be more upset about the political inclinations of that word than the choice of language as it pertains to immersion...

Still though; I would call it fairly minor in comparison to the Lian "rewrite" I mentioned... but definitely a lapse in quality nonetheless :)

Sus is actually a pretty damn old saying that only had a resurgence so depending on the character it could work. Chud definitely is a weird one that doesn't fit in the script.

Devs should demand a refund from the localizers. Point out where they did not localize the game properly, and if they don't fix it. Sue the pants off of them. I'm not joking. That NEEDS to happen. This BS has to end.

the original translates to

So it's not that egregious of a change still a poor joke however but honestly that is the example of this games translation at the worst.
