Excellent laquer?

So without too many spoilers when exactly is this material possible to find? I just recently got to the desert and there's not much more for me to do at my castle until I find this

You can find it in that forest near your castle (Dappled Forest) after the guards allow you to proceed until the end of it. It will unblock after you finish the Desert part and Seign's quest.

Good to know. I've been wondering the same thing for a while now. Haven't been back to the Dappled Forest in a while after being told for so long that the soldiers haven't finished scouting and won't let me proceed.

If you're on the build menu you can press a button to get locations of all the materials you'll need to build.

Edit: It would be triangle on PS-controllers; no clue about keyboard or if you have a buttonoverlay-override

I saw an article that said you could get it from missions, but this isn't true until you can get them in the forest. So yea, you have to get to where Silverfang mentioned.
