Anyone planning on doing a retranslation mod?
I'd like to play the non cringe version of this game.

That's what I'm hoping happens fast. Would definitely put money down to see that happen.

Imagine the word-of-mouth, the further generated sells and the regained trust into foreign devs when a retranslation would be announced. :steamthis:

Even if such a mod is going to be created, its likely going to take a long while because this game has a mountain of text.

Unless the modmaker only focuses on specific characters or the most egregious examples, but that will still take a fair amount of time.

I would pay for that 100%. I hope it happens

honestly MTL/Machine translation now days is good enough and more accurate than these "woke" localizers .. Anime studio is starting to ditch these Freaks and develop an AI / MTL instead

I'm not bringing any "woke" anything into any of it. Regardless of your political leaning, a ton of the dialogue is just max cringe and completely takes you out of the game.

Anyone thought about contacting the developer and informing them of your grievances?
A mod would be the next best thing, but its still a shame these companies let localizers do this much damage.

Rather than sit here and complain, not only will I not be buying this I'm going to tell them why, and you should too.

i'm talking about the state of western media/localizers ruining japanese product especially anime and video game inserting their agenda to the game, when it's not there at all in japanese version like some thread here complaining how they made joke joke joke or cringe like you said when in japanese it's not there at all

I feel like this is the kind of thing that only happens in the video games industry.

"Yeah, I bought a copy of Don Quixote but the translator decided to add twitter slang every time Sancho opens his mouth, so lemme replace these pages before I actually read it so I can undestand what Cervantes was going for when he wrote it."

I mean, technically speaking that happened to the bible multiple times lol. But not really, unfortunately translations for books and other media are not in the massive amount like games butchered bu there's still a ton for normal books. It seems like a lot of JP to ENG translations are butchered on purpose. Videogames, Manga, Light Novels, Anime too even. Books not as much but still very often. But it's naturally not exclusive to JP>ENG translations but it definitely is a lot rarer in other language to/from english translations.

I prefer when games and media chooses to use articulate words that fit the characters instead of dumbing it down for current day. There is less slang usage, less cringe, less using urban dictionary(using more context or real dictionary) and also it is possible to make in game words(normally based around events or things, google it{a thing}).

Waiting for it too. but i'll bet money nexus mods will ban you for being an *ism or *ist. thankfully based mods exists.

Honestly making a team to do a retranslation mod of diferent chapters/situations, etc would be good.

but what we need the most is someone who knows how to use AI to translate and people willing to clear the typos
