Aside from horrible cringe EN localization, overall the game itself is so bad in all aspect. Save your money, just replay Suikoden series.
The localization is just soooo bad... To the level you will want to bleach your eyes and candle cleaning your ears every time after you play the game.

QoL is pretty bad, enemies balancing issue, heavy grinding that even put mobile game grinding to shame, immersion breaking characters design, story is nowhere near Suikoden quality.

Also everything you do is super slow even opening menus is sooooooo slow and unresponsive. Oh and don't even bother having healer in your party, they will get one shot by enemies pretty much all the time no matter how high level and geared your healer are, it's dumb. Healing MP consumption also an issue. Just bring all heavy hitter and use healing items, yeah the game is that shallow... sad

They should have paid the QA tester more rather than employing these activist localizer and DEI consultant.

The localisation is one thing but it looks like to me that the devs didn't play any video games for the past 20+ years.

I liked the Suikodens but they were flawed even back in the days and game design has made a lot progress since then.

- Combat is pretty boring. There is hardly any depth to it. Same for builds. It's super basic.
- Poorly balanced. Magic is just trash.
- It's slow. Everything is slow in this game. Even moving through the menus feels like a shore.
- Level design is just bad.
- Lots of dubious game design choices
- They even brought back bad ideas like the trading system from Suikoden 2

In the rights hands, this game could have been so much more...

I mean keep the great story, keep the very large roster and the "catch them all" deal, keep some staples like the 6 character team and the base/army building and go wild on everything else.

Magic is not weak, with proper setup magic can be real strong. You just have to find the upgraded version of each magic. Meldrige can deal almost 1000 with his magic, just need proper setup and keep playing.

Konami is way worse, not sure they gonna make suikoden I & II better than this game. They didn't love Suikoden series back then, no reason to love it now. Look how long has passed since they announce the remastered, still no release date till now.

Gotta agree with this, the battle is so slow and some enemies are way too strong that they can wipe our ass when we are underleveled. The grinding is more or less the same with Suikoden BUT the encounter rate is ass, the encounter rate did not change since closed beta. Hopefullu they patch it soon. Story is actually great but the english translation has different meaning with the original ♥♥♥ language.

You do realize this game is a 1:1 copy of suikoden right? it plays exactly the same.
If you do not like this game, then you do not like suikoden by default, but *somehow* suikoden is good?
